A New Era of Leadership and Sportsmanship at Ondo Boys’ High School as Dr. Adebayo Famakinwa Decorates House Patrons At 2025 Inter-House Sports
It was indeed a new era of leadership innovation and sportsmanship at Ondo Boy’s High School, Ondo as the School Principal, Dr. Adebayo Famakinwa officially inaugurated the Patrons of the school Houses.
In his speech at the annual inter-house sports and athletics competition held at the School’s Mini Stadium Complex (SMSC) on March 14, 2025 delivered a stirring address, highlighting the significance of teamwork, sportsmanship.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Famakinwa extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, members of staff and students.
He underscored the importance of sports as an integral part of the school’s ethos, emphasizing that sports not only build physical stamina but also cultivate values such as discipline, perseverance and respect.
“This event is a celebration of unity, teamwork, and sportsmanship,” Dr. Famakinwa stated. “It is a moment to witness not just our students’ athletic talents but also their character and discipline.”
Acknowledging the immense contributions of the school’s community, he thanked the 2025 OBHS Sports Committee, housemasters and mistresses for their unwavering support in helping shape the students into well-rounded individuals.
Dr. Famakinwa also encouraged the students to uphold sportsmanship throughout the day, highlighting the moral lessons sports impart—fair play, teamwork, and the joy of participation.
He praised the hard work and dedication of all participants and extended his best wishes to everyone involved, urging them to make the day a memorable celebration of friendly competition.
The occasion also marked the official investiture of the new House Patrons, an important milestone for the school. Dr. Famakinwa expressed his deep honour in introducing the new House Patrons, recognizing their commitment to mentoring the students and fostering a spirit of camaraderie within each house.
“The role of House Patron is one of immense responsibility,” he noted. “These individuals will serve as mentors, role models, and sources of inspiration for our students.”
The newly appointed House Patrons were introduced with great applause:
Blue House – Amb. Barr. Remigius Akinbinu (GCOBHS), Green House – Amb. Sunday Akinfaye (GOBHS),Red House – Amb. Desmond Eke (GCOBHS), White House – Late Amb. Canon Moses Craig Adeyemi (GCOBHS) and Yellow House – Amb. Chief Victor Awosika (GCOBHS).
Dr. Famakinwa congratulated the new Patrons, urging them to lead by example and inspire their houses with a strong sense of responsibility and sportsmanship.
