We are going to Seek Government and Non-governmental Avenues For the Development of Our People In Uka- Chief Emmanuel Ojo Adelami, The Oluka of Uka

The Oluka of Uka, Chief Emmanuel Ojo Adelami, the Head of Uka clan in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, in this exclusive interview with the Democrat News Magazine recently made known his plans for the well-being of the people and entire people of the state. Excerpts:

Can you please introduce yourself to our audience?

Thank you for having me. My name is Chief Emmanuel Ojo Adelami, and I am the Oluka of Uka a title which I hold with great honour in Isaipen quarters in Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, Nigeria. I have spent many years serving in various capacities before my retirement, which paved the way for me to step into the role of traditional leader in my community. It is a responsibility I hold dear, and I strive to contribute positively to the development of my people.

As the leader of the Uka clan, how are you using your position to advance the welfare and interests of your people?

Leadership comes with great responsibility and I take that seriously. One of the key ways we are seeking to empower the people is through awareness programmes that we are going to organize from time to time. These initiatives are designed to promote cultural heritage and instill values that will benefit future generations. We will focus on ensuring that the rich traditions of our people are preserved and passed on. At the same time, these programmes also will serve to remind our people of the importance of unity and collective progress. It is vital that we work together as a people to ensure prosperity for all.

In light of the challenges many face with financing their businesses, what steps do you think can be taken to help the people access soft loans and boost their economic activities?

Access to financial resources is indeed one of the critical needs of our people. Thankfully, there are a number of opportunities that are available from both government and non-governmental organizations. The Federal, State, and Local Governments offer various schemes, especially aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises. We also have international donors and financial institutions that are dedicated to helping people like ours. It is important that our people stay informed about these opportunities and take proactive steps in applying for the assistance available. I encourage them to be diligent, prepared, and to always seek out guidance on how to access these funds.

As we embark on the new year, what message do you have for your people in 2025?

The beginning of a new year is always a moment for reflection and appreciation. First and foremost, we must thank God for the gift of life and for seeing us through another year. As we step into 2025, my message to my people is one of hard work, perseverance and faith. This year presents a fresh opportunity for growth and development. We must remain committed to working diligently in our various endeavours, but equally important is the need for us to pray for wisdom and success. May we all experience the full blessings embedded in this year, as we put our best foot forward. Let us take nothing for granted and make the most of the opportunities before us.

we sincerely appreciate your time and wisdom. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

It is my pleasure. Thank you for this platform, and I remain committed to serving my people to the best of my ability. May this year bring peace, prosperity and success to all.
