Igbayosan NUT Multipurpose Society Commissions Legacy Project Under Leadership of Dr. Abiodun Oladele
Dr. Akinmolafe Abiodun Oladele, President of the Igbayosan Nigeria Union of Teacher Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Idanre, has commissioned a multi-million naira legacy project aimed at benefiting the cooperative’s members.
Speaking with Democrat News Magazine on Friday, 5th of July, 2024, Dr. Oladele shared that the society, founded by like-minded public school teachers in 1997 and registered in 2001, has significantly progressed under his leadership since he became president on June 21, 2021.
Dr. Oladele attributed his achievements to divine guidance and praised his predecessor, Mr. Akinniyi, for laying a strong foundation.
“When I assumed office, there were fears that the society would collapse due to a backlog of loans. By God’s grace, we’ve cleared those loans, and now members can receive loans promptly,” he stated. The new building, a multi-million naira project, includes the Union’s Secretariat, three lock-up shops and a self-contained room designed for profit-making.
Among the union’s accomplishments under Dr. Oladele’s leadership is the annual quiz competition for primary schools in Idanre, with the third edition recently concluded.
He also highlighted the acquisition of land for future projects, including an event center and the Igbayosan Estate, alongside plans for a pure water company.
Dr. Oladele emphasized that his leadership success is a blend of divine grace and lessons learned from former leaders.
He therefore urged union members to increase their savings with the cooperative, considering the country’s current challenges, and encouraged all leaders to strive for integrity and excellence for the sake of posterity.
