National Association of Pharmaceutical Technologists’ & Pharmacy Technicians’ of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter joined their counterparts across the world to commemorate 2022 edition of annual World Pharmacy Technicians’ Day with the call to focus on the future of the noble profession.
The Global Pharmacy Technicians’ Day held on Tuesday 18th of October, 2022 at Health Workers Union House opposite Ade-Tade Hospital, Ilesha Road, Akure.
While speaking at the occasion, Comrade Ekehinde Festus who represented the National President thanked God for allowing them to witness the event this year.
In line with the theme of the program Pharm Techs: Forging Ahead and Focusing the Bright Future, he called on members of the association to be dedicated to their duties because future is very bright.
Comrade Festus Who is the Vice Chairman of NLC in Ondo State also used the opportunity to appreciate all the members of the association for the contributions.
He said it is unfortunate how the Medical Personnels are migrating to other countries for greener pastures because government failed to do the needful.
Also in his address at occasion the State Chairman of the association, Comrade Adeyemi Festus Folorunso thanked God for making the day a reality as event is usually comes up every third Tuesday in October annually.
He appreciated the support of the leaders and members of the association for being in support of his leadership.
He called for synergy among others relevant stakeholders in health profession stressing that every individual role is well spelt out.
Comrade Folorunso pointed out that the association has been from 1960s with and that their members spread across to primary, secondary and tertiary Health sector.
The Chairman stressed the need need for the members to believe forge ahead and focus on the bright future for their cadre saying that the leadership will provide necessary guidance.
The Guest Lecturer Pharm. Idirs Ajayi Oyemitan (PhD) commended the organizers of the programme and charged them to be up and doing in taking the association to the next level of greatness.
He explored the various cadre, opportunity inherent the profession and how marketable is the profession all over the world.
Also in his comment, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the association, Comrade Ayodele Olumide Erastus expressed joy on the success of the occasion.
He therefore called on all the members of the noble association to as a matter of importance come together to move the association forward in all areas.
