Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition For Good Governance Takes Off in Ondo State

The 2023 Presidential Election Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition For Good Governance has commenced operation from Ondo State with over 200 different support groups.

The meeting was called by the Office of Director General, South West on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Helena Hotel KM 2 Ado/Owo Road, Akure, Ondo State with clarion call to all members of the various groups to put all their God given talents and skills to work to ensure the success of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 election.

Some of the eminent personalities in attendance include past and serving Members of Ondo State House of Assembly, past Commissoners, Former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Women leaders, former and serving councilors and a host of others.

Speaking on the objectives of the group, the Director General of Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition For Good Governance in South West, Ambassador (Chief) Sola Iji said the purpose of the meeting was to harmonize all the various groups across the South West to work for the success of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima of All Progressives Congress in 2023 general election in Nigeria.

In his words: “We have different groups that are supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the his emergence as the presidential candidate of APC. Now that he is the presidential candidate, many groups have been formed to work with him and to work for him.

“This coalition is coordinating the activities of all groups that are supporting Asiwaju Tinubu and Shettima. Because Ondo State is my state of origin, I have to commence the work from my home to register them in preparation for the presidential campaign that will take effect from September ending.

Ambassador Iji charged all the members of the various groups present at the meeting to go back to their respective local government areas to work hard to ensure unprecedented success of Asiwaju Tinubu at the polls.

He urged them not to antagonize one another rather they should complement one another for overwhelming success of Tinubu and Shettima.

“We told them, we are not in competition with the Party Structure. We are to work with party’s campaign council. All of us can not be members of the council, they should make sure they use the opportunity of their various groups to work for Asiwaju Tinubu.

“We also told them that Asiwaju had track records of rewarding those who worked for him at one time or the other and that he will reward them adequately, when he comes to power”

Also speaking with journalists former Commissioner in Ondo State, Alhaji Olanrewaju Kazeem expressed disappointment in some of the members Afenifere Pan -Yoruba Group for showing disapproval of Tinubu’s candidature openly saying that such action is uncalled for, because it is against the wish of the generality of Yoruba sons and daughters.

He pointed out that people of Ondo State will vote massively for Tinubu and Shettima.

Also speaking, Hon. Felemu Olusegun Bankole, representing Akoko South West consistency 2 in Ondo State House of Assembly expressed joy over the timely meeting which he said would propel the numerous support groups to work hard for Tinubu at the polls.

Leaders and members of different groups that spoke at the meeting promised to work hard for the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima and appealed to the leadership of the group not to forget them when it is time to share the dividends of democracy.
