DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY:
AINPN LAUDS REP ADELEGBE OVER CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS.
The Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (AINPN) has lauded the Member of the House of Representatives representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Otunba (Hon.) Timehin Adelegbe over mega initiatives for his Constituents.
In a press statement signed by the President of the association, Publisher Olaseeni Oyesusi described the projets and empowerment of the two terms federal lawmaker as unprecedented in the history of the Federal Constituency.
He added that, all the achievements recorded by Adelegbe in the last five years cut across different sectors which have touched many lives positively.
The Released further noted that, Hon Adelegbe has demonstrated that aside lawmaking which is the primary duty of a lawmaker, the people of the Constituency can also enjoy dividends of democracy through different empowerments and project execution.
The Association urged him to continue to put smiles on the faces of his constituents, saying all the good works he has done is only preparing him for a higher position because he has been tested and can be trusted by the people.
It could be recalled that, Hon Adelegbe held a Press Briefing in Akure on March 30, 2025 at the NUJ Press Centre where he gave accounts of his stewardship in the last five years at the lower chamber.
He stated that several projects, including school renovations, skill acquisition centers, and bursary awards for students, had been completed, while others were in progress.
His efforts in agriculture have also benefited farmers through the distribution of improved cocoa seedlings, farming tools, and training in modern techniques.
According to him, the briefing presents an opportunity to appreciate the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people and also to give account of his stewardship.
From construction of skill acquisition centers in different schools to the construction of classrooms and solar-powered initiatives, Adelegbe has to his credit distribution of over 100,000 of improved Cocoa Seedlings, distribution of over 200 water pumps, distribution of over 2500 weed spraying pumps and chemicals to boost agriculture.
In the area of empowerment, Adelegbe announced that thousands of market women, youths, and artisans had received financial aid, work tools, and business grants to boost economic activities; Infrastructure projects, such as road grading, bridge construction, and the installation of solar lights in several communities, have also been a priority.
He said, “Over 150 youths were trained on fish farming with starter packs and N30,000 and aside that over 500 sewing machines, over 350 Generators, over 300 Dryers, over 350 Motorcycles and over 200 head dryer were distributed”.
“Cash grants of 20,000 to N100,000 were given to over 3,000 youths and market women among others”.
The lawmaker further highlighted progress in sports and healthcare, with the construction of two stadiums, a diagnostic center, and new health facility in the two Local Governments.
Otunba Timehin Adelegbe assured constituents that all ongoing projects would be completed while new ones would be initiated to ensure no community was left behind.
The ranking Rep Member expressed gratitude to the people of Owo and Ose for their continued trust and support, pledging to remain committed to delivering more dividends of democracy in line with his campaign promises.
On insecurity in parts of his constituency, he said a local security guards have been set up in his area towards ensuring that security challenges are tackled.
Adelegbe disclosed that the National Assembly members from Ondo State have been attracting federal projects such as the upgrade of Adéyemí college of education to a university, ongoing dualisation of Ore-Ondo -Akure, FUTA Teaching Hospital and College of Aviation among others.
