A Season of Sacrifice and Triumph: Akure East LCDA Chairman Felicitates Governor Aiyedatiwa and Christians on Easter Celebration

In a stirring display of faith and leadership, the Chairman of Akure East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Oda, Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson, LL.M has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and the Christian faithful across Akure and the entire state on the successful commemoration of the Easter celebration.

His message, rich in spiritual insight and communal warmth, was conveyed through an official press release made available to The Democrat News Magazine on Good Friday.

Barr. Samson, reflecting on the essence of the season, emphasized the profound significance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary. He described it as the ultimate act of love and sacrifice, a divine offering for the redemption of mankind. “Easter reminds us of the selfless sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, who bore the weight of our sins and triumphed over death,” he stated. Citing John 15:13, he added, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

The Chairman further highlighted the importance of embodying the virtues of Easter—sacrifice, humility, and love—in our everyday lives.

He called upon Christians not to let the spirit of the season wane after the festivities but to live in the light of Christ’s resurrection. “As Christ rose on the third day, may we also rise above hatred, division, and selfishness, embracing the new life His resurrection offers,” he noted, drawing from Romans 6:4, “Just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life.”

Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson also took a moment to commend Governor Aiyedatiwa for his steady leadership and commitment to peace and development in Ondo State. He noted that the unity and joy witnessed during the Easter celebrations were a testament to the prevailing peace under the Governor’s administration.

He equally commended Mr Governor for his massive and monumental road infrastructural development in Akure particularly the approval of Akure/Idanre dualization and that the Governor’s faith in Jesus Christ culminated in his victory and the first 18 :0 Promax victory in the history of electoral jurisprudence in Ondo state

“Let us continue to uphold the banner of unity and righteousness, as instructed in Psalm 133:1, ‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.’”

In conclusion, the Akure East LCDA Chairman prayed for continued progress, divine protection, and spiritual renewal for the people of Ondo State. As the world celebrates the risen Christ, his message resounded with hope: “May this Easter be a turning point for healing and growth in our land, and may the resurrection power of Christ inspire us to build a more just, loving, and prosperous society.”
