Council, Barr. Kayode, Hails Governor Aiyedatiwa for Strengthening Democracy in Ondo State
Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson, the Chairman of the Transition Committee for Akure East LCDA, has praised the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his commitment to upholding democratic values in the state.
In a press statement shared with Democrat News Magazine, Barr. Kayode commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his adherence to the democratic principles, as evidenced by his recent swearing-in of newly elected Local Government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen across the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State.
Kayode further lauded the Governor’s seven-point agenda, which has been encapsulated in the acronym “OUR EASE”, aligning with the newly inaugurated officials’ mandates. The agenda includes:
O – Order, Security, and Rule of Law
U – Urban/Rural Development and Agriculture & Rural Economy
R – Revolutionary Technology Advancement and Industrialisation
E – Efficient Healthcare and Socio-Economic Welfare
A – Adequate Power and Affordable Energy
S – Sustainable Infrastructure Development & Tourism
E – Education, Human Capital Development, and Entrepreneurship
Barr. Kayode expressed optimism that the new local government chairmen would perform effectively, contributing to the realization of the Governor’s vision of democratic governance that reaches the grassroots.
In his statement, Kayode also thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for honouring his electoral promise to ensure that local government administration brings governance closer to the rural population. He emphasized that the Governor’s commitment to democratic principles is reshaping the local government structure in Ondo State.
“I thank Governor Aiyedatiwa for being a man of honor and for fulfilling his electoral promises,” Kayode said. “He has truly demonstrated that the Local Government Councils have come to stay.”
Barr. Kayode congratulated Dr. Gbenga Fasua, the newly elected Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government, wishing him a successful tenure.
