Glamour as Ogbe High School, Oda, Celebrates Mrs. Foluke Fagbenro, Others for Meritorious Services

It was a day of glamour and heartfelt appreciation as Ogbe High School, Oda, honoured Mrs. Omotunde Foluke Fagbenro, the retired Principal, alongside 21 staff members and two Vice Principals for their outstanding contributions to the institution.

The grand sendoff ceremony Mrs. Fagbenro took place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the school hall, attracting dignitaries, staff, students, and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the milestones achieved during Mrs. Fagbenro’s tenure.

In her remarks, the current Principal, Mrs. L.R. Omotosho, extolled Mrs. Fagbenro as a visionary leader whose passion and dedication have left an indelible mark on the school saying that her leadership has significantly influenced the academic and moral growth of the students.

“She is a remarkable individual and we have all learned immensely from her commitment and passion towards the advancement of the school,” Omotosho said.

Reflecting on her working relationship with the celebrant, Mrs. Omotosho recounted the lessons she learnt from Mrs. Fagbenro’s exemplary leadership style, describing her as a role model and a beacon of inspiration.

She also encouraged other teachers that are still in active service to see their profession as a divine calling, assuring them that God rewards diligent service.

“I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of those who contributed to the success of this Programme. Special thanks to the committee members, led by Mrs. Adebowale B.T. and supported by Mrs. Ihinmikaye D.I.

“I also appreciate the M.C of the day, Mrs. Fadoro B.B. and many others who played vital roles. My heartfelt gratitude goes to all members of staff for their moral support and their contributions, both in cash and kind, which made this day a truly memorable one.”

During the ceremony, the Senior Prefect Boy, Michael Iluyomade, read a farewell lesson from the Holy Bible, setting a reflective tone for the occasion.

Pastor Kole Jose, who offered prayers for the retired Principal (Mrs. Fagbenro) and others that were transferred from the school likened their service to that of biblical Dorcas, urging teachers to continue serving with dedication and purpose saying that they are dealing with lives not files.

Adding vibrancy to the event, the school’s cultural group and choristers captivated the audience with stellar performances, highlighting the rich talents nurtured within the institution.

The Vice Principals, Mrs. Olokose and Mrs. Kolawole, who were transferred to other schools, were also celebrated for their invaluable contributions to Ogbe High School.

In her response, a visibly elated Mrs. Fagbenro expressed profound gratitude to the school management, staff, and parents for organizing such a befitting ceremony in her honour. “This occasion is a testament to the love and respect we share as a family. I am deeply grateful for the memories and the legacy we have built together,” she said.

As the event concluded, the atmosphere remained filled with joy, admiration and a renewed commitment to excellence among the staff and students of Ogbe High School, Oda.December 10, 2024
