BRITISH UNIVERSITY HONOURS DR (BARR.) OLUMUYIWA ADU WITH DOCTORATE DEGREE, COMMENDS HIS ACADEMIC ATTAINMENT AND IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS.

Dr (Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu (Cubana) bags Honorary Doctorate Degree in Human Development from Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom.
The colourful event took place on Thursday, 13th December, 2024 at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

This prestigious award was presented by the representatives of the Institution in an event organized by African School of Diplomacy and International Relations with the aim of honouring African academic achievers for their significant contributions to education development across the continent.

Dr Olumuyiwa Adu is a generic and visionary leader with trailblazing legacy and outstanding achievements in education. He has not only acquired many foreign and local academic trainings but has equally contributed, in his private capacity to promote intellectual growth in Africa.

He was an attorney of Legal Points Limited for several years before joining Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas as a direct employee.
Dr Adu, a political juggernaut, is a multiple award winner, renowned philanthropist, academic researcher and traditional title holder.
His NGO, Olumuyiwa Adu Foundation ( OAF) has provided several interventions through humanitarianism.

Dr Adu’s giant strides have served as a source of positive inspiration to younger generation, leaving indelible marks on the lives of the people and on the path to development.
The Board, therefore, decided to honour his impressive academic attainment and professional records.

In his welcome address, Dr Tunji J. Asaolu , Vice chairman/CEO , Africa School of Diplomacy and International Relations and Global Vice President, United World Congress of Diplomats congratulated the deserving recipients on these recognitions after careful evaluation of their productivity, impressive contributions to academic excellence and their professional credentials.

The Chairman, governing Board of the school, Professor Jonathan Atenu underscored the importance of education acquisition as a panacea for economic development and technological advancement.

He informed that Nigeria is a signatory to the World trade Organization’s Treaty in 1995 to make education available across borders, easing intellectual acquisition to meet the global demands.

Many important achievers from diverse backgrounds were decorated including the State Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, Air vice Marshal Paul Irumheson, Chairman, Military Pensions Board,
Chief Mrs Lizzy Anjorin, H.E Roll Stephanie Ngomat, Chairman, African Peace and Security Union, Hon. Oluwaseun Akinde.

Appreciating this important recognition from the esteemed British University and its Pan African collaborators, Dr Olumuyiwa Adu promised continuous support for academic progress and improvement for the overall development of Africa.
