Mr. Adeniyi Oluyide Assumes Duty as Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, Pledges to Elevate Excellence

 

Mr. Adeniyi John Oluyide, a seasoned educationist and multiple award-winning leader, has assumed office as the new Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure with readiness to lift the bar of excellence in the school.

Known for his exemplary leadership skills, Mr. Oluyide brings a wealth of experience to the institution, which is fondly referred to as the “Only School” by its community.

Akogun Oluyide, an illustrious alumnus of the school from the 1983 set, resumed his new role on Monday, December 9, 2024, with a clear vision to elevate the school’s standards of excellence.

Speaking with journalists after a warm reception during a colorful assembly exercise, Oluyide expressed his excitement and outlined his plans for the school.

Clear Vision for Academic Excellence
“My appointment as Principal is a cherished opportunity. I have a strategic template focusing on three key domains: Cognitive, Psychomotor, and Affective. Our goal is to ensure students achieve holistic development in these areas.”

He also highlighted plans to introduce entrepreneurial skills acquisition programmes in line with recent bill signed into the law by our amiable President.

“Every student will acquire at least one skill before leaving school. This will prepare them to be self-reliant and better equipped for life after graduation,” he added.

Commitment to Staff Welfare, Mr. Oluyide emphasized his commitment to the welfare of the school’s staff, acknowledging their critical role in achieving his vision.

“Boosting staff morale will be a priority, as it directly impacts performance and the overall success of the school,” he stated.

As an active member of the Oyemekun Grammar School Alumni Association, Oluyide described his appointment as a unique opportunity for the Old Students’ Association to contribute directly to the institution’s growth.

“Having an old student, particularly from the 1983 set, as Principal is symbolic. It underscores our collective responsibility to take the school to greater heights,” he said.

To inspire the current students, Oluyide appeared in the school uniform during his address. “I was once like you,” he told the students. “With dedication, commitment, and focus, you can achieve greatness.”

Mr. Oluyide’s resumption marks a new chapter for Oyemekun Grammar School, as the entire school community looks forward to a transformative era under his leadership.

Oluyide who through his dexterity brought his former school, St. Michael Catholic High School, Akure to global recognition last year is set to do more in his new place of leadership assignment.
