DR (BARR.) OLUMUYIWA ADU CELEBRATES CENTENARY ANNIVERSARY WITH OKEAGBE LAND

Dr. (Barr). Olumuyiwa Adu (Cubana) and his entourage were at Okeagbe in Akoko North West Local government area of Ondo state on Saturday, 7th December, 2024 to celebrate the centenary anniversary of the ancient city.

Standing at momentous crossroads of history, the creme de la creme of the society gathered at Okeagbe Akoko to celebrate 100 years of extraordinary journey, unwaivering spirit and collective triumph while paying vibrant tribute to some of their visionary ancestors and living legends who participated in the evolution of the city and shaping the destiny of the harmonious inhabitants.

Admittedly, Okeagbe is a living symbol of unity, bravery, service and wisdom jointly administered by four revered kings who have harnessed the diversity of the community as a progressive strength for development and the betterment of the residents.

The pioneering efforts of these late monarchs: Oba Omogun Arasanyin, Ajana Of Afa, Oba Salami Owage of Oge, Oba Oloniyo, Ewi of Aje, Oba Suberu Arogunyo, Oludo of Ido will always be appreciated alongside other past and present leaders for their foresight and developmental drive.

Dr. Adu who was given a heroic reception at the epochal event expressed his felicitation with the Oke Agbe sons and daughters and other eminent personalities who came from far and near for this historic celebration.

Dr. Olumuyiwa Adu was warmly received by Dr. (Hon.) Bunmi Tunji Ojo, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Otunba Solomon Oladunni, Dr Tunji Abayomi, Chief Sunday Owoyemi ( Sunbeth), Okeagbe- Akoko traditional rulers and a host of other dignitaries.

Dr. Adu who is a global cultural ambassador participated in the art exhibition, one of the highlights of the occasion, to showcase the talents and professionalism of Okeagbe Indigenes in crafts and artworks and to sell some of their products to interested buyers. Dr Adu extolled the originality of these wares while purchasing the ‘ikoko.obe’, the earthen cooking pot at a very handsome price.

Dr. Adu and his team were later entertained at the palace of Oba Mofolorunso Arasanyin, the Ajana of Afa before paying a courtesy visit to
Otunba Solomon Oladunni, who is the Asiwaju of Okeagbe Land at his palatial country home within the community.
