NOA Applauds INEC, ICCES, Stakeholders, Ondo Electorates, Congratulates Aiyedatiwa
The Ondo State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all Stakeholders for conducting a successful and violent free Governorship Election on November 16, 2024.
In a Statement issued from the Office of Ondo NOA Director in Akure, Mr James Adekunle through the Public Relation Officer, Ralph Oguntibeju, the Agency described the election as a major milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey, noting the transparency and efficiency demonstrated by INEC throughout the process.
As a key stakeholder in Nigeria’s electoral process, the NOA and other independent Observers observed significant improvements in the system that have attracted commendations from various quarters. Of particular note was the effective deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, which functioned seamlessly alongside the professional conduct of INEC personnel. These advancements reflect the commission’s commitment to fostering credible elections in the country.
The National Orientation Agency also extended its appreciation to the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) for its vital role in ensuring peace and order during the election period. The coordinated efforts of security agencies under the umbrella of ICCES was instrumental in maintaining a secured environment for voters and electoral officials alike.
The Director expressed gratitude to the good people of Ondo State for their remarkable maturity and for been civil during the election. The turnout of voters, who peacefully exercised their franchise and chose candidates of their preference, underscores the impact of NOA’s extensive sensitization campaigns.
The Agency acknowledged the citizens’ adherence to democratic principles as a testament to their growing political awareness.
Furthermore, Mr Adekunle congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his well-deserved victory in the election. He expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to continue delivering progressive leadership for the benefit of the people of Ondo State.
