Interest Group Committee Inaugurated as APC Targets 700,000 Votes for Aiyedatiwa
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set an ambitious target of securing 700,000 votes for its candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2024.
At the official unveiling of the target in Akure on Monday, Prince Biyi Poroye, chairman of the Special Interest Committee of the 2024 APC Governorship Campaign Council, emphasized that the goal is attainable, citing the governor’s outstanding performance over the past 10 months.
“We are confident that the APC will win the November 16 election, but we must ensure it’s a decisive victory. It is our responsibility, as APC members, to reach out to all voters and canvass support for our candidate. This will help us win more supporters and achieve our target of 700,000 votes,” Poroye declared.
Hon. Abiola Makinde, Director General of the APC Campaign Council in Ondo State, urged party members to maintain unity and commitment across all levels, from polling units to the state level, to deliver a massive win for the APC.
“I encourage everyone to go back to their local government areas and replicate today’s efforts, ward by ward, unit by unit. By doing this, we can achieve the target of 700,000 votes for our party. There is a significant reward for dedication and hard work, and I urge you all to stay focused and continue to push until we achieve a landslide victory in November,” Makinde said.
The state chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, echoed similar sentiments, urging members to intensify their grassroots mobilization efforts.
“It is crucial to engage with the registered voters in the hinterlands and inform them about the governor’s achievements over the past 10 months. I am confident that this target is both realistic and achievable,” Adetimehin remarked.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, appreciated the committee’s efforts, highlighting the APC government’s accomplishments in Ondo State.
“We are aiming to surpass the record we’ve already set in governance and politics in the state. Our achievements across various sectors will speak for us, and the people trust us to deliver even more when we return. I urge you to continue mobilizing new registrants to collect their voter’s cards and participate in the November election. We must carry out house-to-house campaigns and strengthen our engagement at every unit,” the governor advised.
