Aquinas College Principal, Mr. Adebisi Jimbola, Unveils Vision for Academic Excellence
As the new academic session kicks off at Aquinas College, Akure, the Principal, Mr. Adebisi Jimbola, has outlined his strategic vision to elevate the standard of education within the school.
During an exclusive chat with journalists on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Mr. Jimbola emphasized that Aquinas College remains a beacon of excellence among schools in the state.
The multiple award-winning principal highlighted that education remains the best legacy one can offer the younger generation, and he has set in motion comprehensive plans to ensure students receive an all-encompassing education.
“We are doing everything in our capacity to develop the three key domains: cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. In this way, we are producing well-rounded students who can compete on a global scale,” he stated.
Mr. Jimbola praised the government for introducing entrepreneurship programmes into schools, noting, “This initiative is precisely what is needed at this critical time in our nation.” He believes that equipping students with entrepreneurial skills is essential for their future success.
Addressing the challenges facing the country, Mr. Jimbola expressed his sympathy for parents and guardians struggling with the current economic situation. He encouraged them to remain prayerful and trust in God, as resilience and faith are needed in these tough times.
When asked about the ongoing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Catholic Mission and the Ondo State Government, Mr. Jimbola explained that the mission now oversees education up to Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3), while the government manages Senior Secondary School classes (SSS 1 to SSS 3). He further noted that the Catholic Mission would take over the management of any classes vacated by the government, ensuring a seamless transition in the educational structure.
