Mrs. Abiodun-Olaimolu Vows to Transform Ijo-Mimo Oluwa High School
The Principal of Ijo-Mimo Oluwa High School, Akure, Mrs. J.T. Abiodun-Olaimolu, has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the quality of education in the school as the new academic session commences across Ondo State.
During an interactive session with journalists in her office on Tuesday 17th of September 2024, Mrs. Abiodun-Olaimolu outlined her vision and plans for the smooth and effective running of the new academic calendar. She emphasized that the school is focused on delivering high academic standards while also promoting the holistic development of its students.
She highlighted that admission into JSS 1 is still ongoing, with the school expecting around 200 new students, as projected from the admission list provided to the school authorities. She expressed confidence in the school’s ability to nurture these incoming students into responsible and academically sound individuals.
“Our students are well-disciplined, which has significantly contributed to their excellent performance in academics,” Mrs. Abiodun-Olaimolu noted, adding that the school’s ethos and values play a pivotal role in shaping the students’ character and academic success.
Beyond academic excellence, Mrs. Abiodun-Olaimolu announced plans for a variety of extracurricular activities designed to enhance the students’ school experience. These include the school’s annual Inter-House Sports competition, which fosters healthy competition and physical fitness, and the Christmas Carol event, which adds a festive and communal spirit to the school year.
In her remarks, Mrs. Abiodun-Olaimolu also urged parents to take a more active role in the education and welfare of their children. She stressed that the future belongs to those who are prepared, and that a strong partnership between parents and the school is essential for the success and well-being of the students.
“We encourage parents to stay committed to their children’s development, as the foundation we lay today will determine their future success,” she concluded.
