A lucky break: Embracing the opportunity to document and serve

A lucky break: Embracing the opportunity to document and serve.

The seldom opportunity given to me by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to serve under his administration is a “lucky break” for me.

Joe DiMaggio, former New York Yankees outfielder & Hall of Fame Baseball Player had said “A person always doing his or her best becomes a natural leader, just by example;” and it’s my firm belief that this new chapter is a harbinger of good times to come.

It all started when we voiced our concerns about the monstrous abnormalities that characterized the state’s polity. Apparently, the ship was not well steered due to forces that clandestinely hijacked the system from the indigenous leader whose sweat had given everyone a fair shot. Instead of carefully considering our unbiased and unwavering stance, grounded in truth, we were perceived as foes with a sinister motive. Without a shred of doubt, our advocacy, based on incontrovertible facts, was swiftly rebuffed and even attracted scorn. Since it takes great strength and courage to admit the truth, we rested our sincere standpoints and allowed nature to take its course.

The ultimate One who watches over both the truthful and the liars exercised His supremacy by fighting for the weak and exalting them. Like a verse in the Holy Scripture says — the Lord resists the proud, but the humble will He exalt. After the whole ballgame, tranquillity crept and it was melodious songs in the nook and cranny of the Sunshine.

The fascinating melodies became pervasive a few days ago when Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announced the appointment of new aides. Since I have never been hapless from time immemorial, I was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation. Interestingly, if I had not documented the scenes where certain actors and actresses earlier plunged the state into turmoil, I wouldn’t have such a robust acceptance write-up today.

I believe the ‘Lucky’ man sitting on the most exalted seat in the state was guided by intuition, knowing that I have well-documented literature. Perhaps that is why he asked me to start assisting him with research and documentation.

However I would like to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to our esteemed and visionary Governor, whose leadership and insight continue to inspire us all. I am deeply honored by his recognition of my abilities in documentation and research, and it is with great pride that I accept this responsibility.

I also wish to assure the Governor and the good people of our state that I will go above and beyond in fulfilling this role. I am fully committed to conducting thorough and relevant research that will address key areas of concern and ultimately improve the quality of life for all residents. Together, under the Governor’s exemplary leadership, we can create a future where every citizen enjoys the full benefits of progress, development, and good governance.

Thank you.
