Hon. Igonty Akinmolayan Johnson Honours Oba Frederick Aroloye, Says His Leadership Was Full of Impacts
Hon. Igonty Akinmolayan Johnson, a prominent figure from the Idanre kingdom and former Leader of the Idanre Local Government Legislative Council, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Owa of Idanre, Oba (Dr.) Frederick Adekunle Aroloye, Afubiefin IV (OFR). Honouring the monarch’s life, Akinmolayan emphasized the profound impact Oba Aroloye had on Idanre, Ondo State, and Nigeria.

Akinmolayan Johnson acknowledged the dual nature of the moment, as Nigerians both mourn the loss and celebrate the life of an extraordinary leader.
Oba Aroloye passed away on July 30, 2024 to join his ancestor, at the age of 98, after a remarkable 48-year reign characterized by wisdom, strength, and a deep commitment to his people.
Hon. Akinmolayan noted that under Oba Aroloye’s leadership, Idanre experienced significant growth and development. The late monarch was a pillar of stability and a guardian of tradition, ensuring that Idanre’s rich cultural heritage was both preserved and celebrated. “His dedication to progress and his deep connection with his subjects earned him not only their respect but also their love,” Akinmolayan remarked.
“He was not merely a ruler but a father figure to many, embodying compassion, fairness, and integrity. His vision went beyond the immediate needs of his kingdom, advocating for education, health, and economic empowerment. As a symbol of unity, he consistently worked to bridge divides and foster harmony among his people,” he added.
While commenting on Oba Aroloye’s enduring legacy, Akinmolayan stated, “We remember a king who not only led but inspired. His contributions to the kingdom and the lasting impact of his reign will be remembered for generations. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and the principles he championed will continue to guide Idanre.”
