AVOID THE PLANNED PROTEST IN INTEREST OF PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATION-ONDO NOA URGES THE PUBLIC
In continuation of the ongoing conversation on efforts of the National Orientation Agency NOA to adequately inform members of the public and in particular the youths of the State to Shun the planned protest slated for early next month, the State Director of Ondo NOA, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu was a Special guest on Ondo State Radio vision Corporation (OSRC TV) on a television program tagged “AM TODAY” to enlighten members of the public to shun the planned protest.
The State Director noted that Government at all levels have taken steps in mitigating the hardship currently in the country and urged the citizens to embrace peace and dialogue. She also pleaded with the youths in particular to give the administration of President Bola Tinubu more time to address the pressing issues facing the nation, including economy, security, and unemployment as several efforts are been put in place to empower the youths and the vulnerables.
Mrs Adefolalu said in as much as Government recognises the principles
of the right of the Nigerian citizens to echo their minds on issues affecting the public and right of association and right to voice out their demands , but the intelligence reports gathered from the field indicated that certain group of people have been discovered to have hijacked the planned protest.
“These individuals who are faceless and unpatriotic have interior motives to disrupt the peace of the country and to discredit the government of the day among comity of nations.She stressed and appealed to all and sundry to shelve and not participate in the planned protest adding that parents should warn their wards not to be used in any form of protest,be vigilant, be patient and put in place preventive measures adding that change takes time, and as the saying goes, ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
The NOA Director described the efforts of the Government in various intervention programs such as Students loans Scheme, Skill acquisition,Palliatives distribution across the country, provisions of farm incentives to farmers, financial empowerment to small and medium scale industry through Federal Government grants which aims to rebuild the Nation from scratch and the need for people to endure for a while to bring about positive change and socio- economic development of our country.
