Akure South NAPMED Chairman, Comrade Hassan Highlights Achievements In Office, Appreciates Government Support For Members

The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Patent and Proprietors Medicine Dealers (NAPMED) in Akure South and the State General Secretary of the association, Comrade A.T Hassan has made known the numerous contributions of association in Akure and Ondo State generally.

The Chairman said the association under his leadership has been working with World Health Organization to eradicate Tuberculosis and other agencies like NDLEA to check consumption of hard drugs.

During an in-depth interview with DEMOCRAT NEWS Magazine last Friday at his office in Akure, Hassan provided an extensive overview of the association’s activities and accomplishments. He expressed his profound gratitude for the support extended by the Ondo State Government, emphasizing how this backing has been crucial in enabling NAPMED to better serve its members and the broader community.

Hassan detailed various initiatives undertaken by NAPMED under his leadership, which have significantly improved the operations and welfare of patent medicine vendors in the region. Among these achievements, he mentioned the successful organization of training programs aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of members, ensuring they adhere to best practices in the distribution and sale of medicines.

These programs, Hassan noted, have not only elevated the professional standards within the association but have also contributed to improved healthcare delivery in the state.

Furthermore, he praised the Ondo State Government for its continuous support, citing examples of logistical assistance and collaborative efforts that have strengthened the association’s capacity to operate effectively. “The government’s contributions have been instrumental in our success,” Hassan stated.

On the significant impact NAPMED has had in Ondo State, he said that the association had set up task force to check selling of Illicit drugs and has built the Association Secretariat to lintend level within the short time he came in to office.

While appreciating ODSG under the leadership Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Hassan said: “Their support has enabled us to provide better services and ensure that our members are well-equipped to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
We are appealing to Government to support us with soft loan to enable our members boost their respective businesses”

Hassan also took the opportunity to advise NAPMED members on the importance of remaining steadfast in their support for the association. He underscored the need for unity and collaboration, urging members to continue participating actively in association activities and to uphold the ethical standards that NAPMED promotes.

In conclusion, Hassan reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the interests of NAPMED and its members, expressing optimism about the association’s future endeavors. He called on all stakeholders to maintain their support and work together towards achieving the common goal of improving healthcare services across Ondo State.
