Adofure Pig Farmers Express Satisfaction, Appreciate FG, ODSG Over Welfare Initiatives

Members of the Association of Pig Farmers in the Adofure Cluster, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, have expressed their gratitude to the Federal Government and the Ondo State Government for policies aimed at improving the lives of farmers in the region.

Speaking on behalf of the association, General Chairman and former State Vice Chairman, Pastor Ojo Olusanya, commended the government for its supportive initiatives.

Speaking on L Pres Project in the state he said, “L Pres Project is a collaboration between the Federal Government and the World Bank designed to assist farmers in overcoming challenges in their business,” Pastor Olusanya explained.

“Representatives have been visiting different areas, and just last week, they came to Adofure to understand and address the issues faced by farmers both individually and collectively with the view to providing a lasting solution.

“We have requested for hybrid Mother Pigs that can easily converted feed to flesh because the cost of feeding pigs is on the high side.”

He expressed confidence in the success of the L Pres project and urged association members to continue supporting the leadership with prayers for its swift realization.

Pastor Olusanya also emphasized the importance of honesty and sincerity as they receive the grants and facilities promised to them.

Additionally, Pastor Olusanya praised the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa administration for their dedication to advancing pig farming. “If you visit Ilutoro, you will see the remarkable work done by the Akeredolu Aiyedatiwa government. Just last week, Governor Aiyedatiwa flagged off the distribution of grains to farmers, following a similar initiative two months ago.”

He appealed to those in charge of the distribution to ensure that the grains reach the intended farmers, highlighting the significance of Adofure as the largest pig farming cluster in Ondo State.

“We had the opportunity to benefit from the late Governor Akeredolu, who provided us with Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) at subsidized rates,” Pastor Olusanya concluded.
