NYCN CRISIS: ONDO COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH SUES FOR PEACE

Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, has charged the Youth to pursue peace.

He made the position known while addressing the Youth at the State Stakeholders Management Committee meeting to resolve the crisis among the two warring factions of the National Youth Council of Nigeria ( NYCN ) Ondo State Chapter held at the State Secretariat Annex, Akure.

According to him, they should allow peace to reign, settled their misunderstanding amicably, not allowed external influences to affect them, he implored them to respect their constitution, saying they are the leaders of today not tomorrow.

“You need to be united, pursue peace, settle out of court, put your house in order and go back to your various Local Government Area and ensure there is peace”.

Responding, Comrade Sola Oladeji, former Vice President Southwest National Youth Council of Nigeria on behalf of other Stakeholders and Youths present at the meeting, thanked him for his fatherly roles in ensured there is peace among the Youth, most especially National Youth Council of Nigeria Ondo Chapter, he equally appreciated his sincere supports and promised that all in attendance will abide by the resolutions reached at the meeting.

The commissioner left the meeting and allow the stakeholders to continue their meeting.

Saka was delighted when the leaders of the Council later visited his office to brief him of their resolutions, that the union has decided to appoint caretaker committee pending the conduct of an election to elect new executives before the end of the year.

In attendance are, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Tolu Adeyemi, Director of Youth, Mrs Olukemi Okukpe, Director Finance and Administration, Mrs Adesola Akiosin.

Others are, State Commandant Sheriff Guards, Alhaji Ogbera Yusuf, Former State Secretary, Comrade Joel Samuel Feyisayo, Former Vice President Southwest, Comrade Sola Oladeji and Former Southwest Vice President, Dr Ezikiel Fajana among many others
