AKURE SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT TRAINS WEDDING ENGAGEMENT VOCAL PERSONS ON RUDIMENTS OF WORK

The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) in Akure South Local Government, Mrs. Omoloja Dupe Aminat has been commended for her ingenuity and foresight in organising a-3 day seminar/workshop for vocal persons anchoring wedding engagement, to train them on the rudiments of the job.

The event that was described as first of it’s kind, welcomed invited guests and the 22 participants that participated in the training to the grand finale of the 3-day programme that was held between Friday 2nd May to Tuesday 7th May,2024 at Akure south Local Government Secretariat.

While delivering her welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Akure South Local Government, Mrs. D.A. Omoloja said: “We organised this programme to serve as a means of helping the local government generate more revenue to be able to cater for the project at hand.

“We intend to look for ways to generate revenue to the local government as we don’t have to wait for the Federal and State Governments to fund the local government and the programme is going to be a continuous one”.

Director of General Services Akure South Local Government, Mr Segun Olu Aina, said that such Programme will boost their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and ensure that all departments in the local government were engaged in one way or the other to generate revenue.

The 3-day training programme that started on Friday 2nd May,2024 with 22 participants who practicalised what they were taught at the grand finale.

Present at workshop were: Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Omoloja, the Director of Finance and Supply, Mr Amusitan; the Director of Agric and Natural Resources, Mrs. Wole Awolere; Director of Legal Services, Mr Ebenezer Olusanya; Director of Works, Engineer Ademulegun; Director of Social Development, Education, Information , Youth and Sports, Department, Prince Akeem Momoh and NULGE Chairman, Akure South Local Government, Comrade Soji Oluwatuyi;

Others were Director of Budget planning Research and Statistics , Mr Tope Balogun; and the resource persons; Mrs. Omoniyi Yemi and Mrs Osadare.

All the participants commended, the award-winning HOLGA, Mrs. Omoloja for her proactiveness and her administrative acumen that brought about the event they described as first of it’s kind.
