Ahead of tomorrow’s All Progressives Congress primary election and that of the Peoples Democratic Party primary election coming up on Saturday 20th and 25th April, 2024 respectively, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council has alerted the security agencies and warned the political gladiators to be wary of influx of self acclaimed Journalists, otherwise known as fake media personnels.
The press statement reaching City Movers Magazine, a leading community journal in Ondo State, electronically signed by the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Leke Adegbite and Olaoluwa Meshack disclosed that It has apparently come to the notice of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, that some unaccredited and fake journalists have flooded the state ahead of direct mode of the APC governorship primaries slated for tomorrow, Saturday 20th April, 2024 and that of the indirect mode of the PDP gorvernorship primary election slated for 25th April, 2024.
It is on this premise the union is urging all security operatives to clarify media personnel’s status in the media industry with the leadership of Ondo NUJ.

The union equally enjoin professional journalists who are coming from outside Ondo State to cover the party primaries to ensure that they are properly-accredited and cleared by the NUJ to avoid unnecessary embarrassment on the field.
Ondo NUJ appeals to all Governorship Aspirants from the major political parties to play the game according to the rules, and place the interest of the state above personal interest.
