GLAMOUR AS LEGACY ELITE CLUB INAUGURATES MEMBERS IN AKURE

Legacy Elite Club (LEC), a social club comprise of friends of like minds of over 40 years friendship has officially inaugurated the Club in Akure, Ondo State Capital to enhance their Commitment  on Community Development.

The official inaugration of the club was held at Christ the King Event Centre, Oke-Ijebu, Akure on Saturday, April 6, 2024 as digintaries from all walks of life were in attendance.

Some of the dignitaries at the event including Onimariwo of Mariwo Community in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Julius Adegoke ,Asamo of Akure, High Chief Rotimi Olusanya, Aro of Akure, High Chief Anthony Falowo, Prince Adebisi Adeniyi, Dr. M.O Ojo, Olori Aladetoyinbo, Mr. & Mrs. Adedugbagbe Folorunso, Pst. Ola Akinmoladun and a host of others.

While delivering his speech, the president of Legacy Elite Club, Prince Mathew Adegoke said that the group is a dynamic Social Club with over 40 years of friendship with interest on selfless Community Development in all ramifications.

According to him: “We’re dedicated to community enhancement, fostering social connections, and nurturing all-round development of our members.

“Our commitment to legacy-building includes giving back to our community, supporting local causes, educational sponsorship for the youths and bolstering local businesses and entrepreneurs to stimulate economic growth.

Prince Adegoke noted that it’s part of the objectives of the club to encourage members to connect with each other in a relaxed and friendly setting as well as to create opportunities for members to meet new people and to expand their social circle and that it provides platform for members to share their interest, experiences and ideas.

In the same way, he said that the Club provides a platform for members to explore their personal and professional interests, to support members where necessary and to ensure that they are valued and respected in all spheres of life.

In addition, Prince Mathew Adegoke noted that as part of their Community Services the club will provide them opportunities to give back to the local community and to identify and support local causes that align with the values of the club.

On economic growth objectives, he said they established initiatives that support local businesses and entrepreneurs, contributing to the economic vitality of the community and to implement health and wellness drives, providing free medical check-ups and education to promote the well-being of Community members.

As part the mandates of the club, the president said they will offer mentorship programmes and workshops that support personal and professional growth and to provide opportunities for members and non-members to develop leadership and business skills.

While reeling out the great achievements of the club, he said: “As part of our Commitment to giving back to the community where we all came from, Legacy Elite Club is proud to have just commissioned a state of art basketball/volleyball court at Akure Secondary Commercial school, Akure.

“It is our belief that this project will bring about numerous benefits such as: enhance physical health, Community engagement and sports Education.

Mathew Adegoke who is a Prince of Mariwo Community in Ifedore Local Area of Ondo State, said that the Club is looking forward to providing waters through provision of borehole, scholarship for the indigents students and support for vulnerables like orphanage, hospices and hospitals as a way to rekindle their hope.

He therefore called for the support of well meaning individuals and corporate organizations to extend hands of fellowship to them for the realization of the vision.

In his chat with the Democrat News Magazine, the Secretary of the Club Mr. Charles Ayo Alabi said that they contributed over 9 million naira to execute the project of volleyball/basketball Court at Akure Commercial Secondary, Akure saying that they are still going to do much more for the good of the less privileged in Akure Kingdom.

Charles Ayo Alabi who is popularly known as Citywide said that they will expand the scope of the group by bringing all their friends together under the umbrella of Legacy Elite Club and that as time goes on they will have Patron and other relevant individuals added to the club.

In his comment, Michael Oluwateru, Milky Oluwadare, Project Coordinator of the club said that he has been coming to Akure since 2004 after many years of sojourn in America and that a visit to Akure Secondary Commercial School prompted their project in the school having seen the situation of the school.

On his part, Toyin Makinde, Social Secretary/PRO made known the readiness of the members of the club to make Ondo State great through their spirit of love and giving back to the society.

Members of the Legacy Elite Club are: Prince Mathew Adegoke-President, Charles Ayo Alabi-Secretary, Banjo Adeleye-Vice President, Jide Kikiowo-Vice Secretary.and Michael Oluwateru- Project Coordinator.

Others are; Toyin Adewumi-Social Secretary, Olajide Oladimeji-Finacial Secretary, Otunba Jaiye Adeniyi- Vice Treasurer, Timmy Adejugbagbe and Prince Gbenga Adeyeye member

In their separate chat with journalists at the event, Sir Michael Ayodele Ojo, of MAO Hospital, Mr. Adeniyi Oluyide, Principal of St. Michael’s Catholic High School, Akure, Mrs. Omoshileola Stella Akinbohun, Principal of Akure Secondary Commercial School commended the group for the job well done and called on others to follow their steps.

They noted that their efforts are championing to the right direction and that the should be supported by all and sundry as a way of encouragement.

After the official inaugration of the event all the guests were entertained with assorted foods and drinks as the members of the great Legacy Elite Club took to dancing floor. While the cultural troup of Akure Commercial Secondary School Akure added colours to the occasion before cotton was drawn over the event.
