Artisans, Drivers’ Union Members, Market Women, Okada Riders Endorse Governor Aiyedatiwa
Various artisans groups, Market Women, Okada Riders and members of drivers’ union and a host of other have thrown heavy weight of supports behind Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to become the governor of Ondo State beyond 2025.
The groups endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa during an interactive session with Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers’ (LACO-FS) on Tuesday, 2nd April, 2024 at International Culture and Event Centre, (The Dome), Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.
While explaining the rationale behind the Programme, the Director of Union and Artisans of LACOC FS, Engr. Michael Adeyanju: “As you are aware that our Governor is a grassroots politican and the only way to connect this, we have to create a platform where all artisans and union members across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
“As the slogan of Artisans right says ‘No Artisans No Nations, No Economy! Our Governor focuses on infrastructures and Economy it only makes sense to create this platform where he can Interact with them directly.
Speaking on the certainty of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa he said: “I it’s just normal that in a political setting there must be competition so that it will not look fake but we are sure not only because we want much more for what he has done.
“In this short time he has been in the saddle of leadership in the state, salaries are being paid on time, ‘operation no pothole ‘etc it is only normal we have someone like that to continue. APC is a party that rewards excellence. APC will not gamble
“We are only planning for general election and by the grace of God Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is going to win.
Also speaking with the Democrat News Magazine one the conveners of the event, Dr. Oladipupo Babatunde Okeyomi said that the purpose of the gathering is to endorse Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who has been performing to the admiration of all and sundry in Ondo State.
Okeyomi who is popularly known as ‘Carry Go’ point that Ondo State needs a man like Aiyedatiwa whose activities and characters are without blemishes.
“Let me use this medium to tell the whole world that never again in Ondo State, we will not allow any Governor whose wife will be insulting people on Facebook or a debtor that is owing over N59 billions, a man whose enclave has decayed.
“The seat of power in Ondo State is not a cake, is not meant for a man of shady character rather for man of impeccable character a man who is reasonable like Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
“We have over 3,000 Street Captains. They are on the street working for Aiyedatiwa. The only contestant we know that that is competent is Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, we are very sure of his emergence and by the grace of God he will come out in flying colours at the general election.
“There is no doubt you are a man of depth and great vision, we Artisans has therefore come this day to openly associate with your lofty dreams and great ideas for a greater Ondo by officially telling everyone that union and artisans in the state has endorsed the governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa to continue as our executive governor for four years”.
The Co-Convener of LACO-FS, Prince Poroye Biyi appreciated the artisans and traders, noting that they have started work in the streets already.
He urged them to be more aggressive in preaching the gospel of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa reflected on the journey since the commencement of the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa administration in 2020. He emphasized the notable achievements made during this period, highlighting the elimination of outstanding salary payments, ongoing infrastructure improvements such as the filling of potholes, and the successful implementation of the “Operation Light Up Akure” initiative.
He further acknowledged the collective efforts and support of the good people of Ondo State across boards, expressed gratitude for the endorsement to continue serving as governor beyond 2025.
While responding to the Artisans endorsement, the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, appreciated them for their endorsement, promising not to disappoint the citizens.
“I hereby use this opportunity to accept this endorsement, we would continue to work for the people, I appreciate everyone for their support”.
“In the past three months that I have assumed office after the death of the late governor, we have started the development of Ondo State, the light up Ondo State has commence, the operation no port hole has started, recruitment process is on, we would continue to do more assiduous work for the development of our dear state” the Governor said.
