EASTER CELEBRATION: ONDO CAN CHAIRMAN, OLOGUNWA TASKS NIGERIANS ON UNITY
Christians have been encouraged not to ignore the current state of the nation’s distress occasioned by economic imbalance and insecurity
The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Ondo State Chapter, Very Reverend Father Anselm Olorunfemi Ologunwa stated this as Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
The CAN Chairman also charged Christians to remember the Christ’s message of love, unity, and selflessness which he described as the values that could lead the country out of the current challenges.
A statement by the Director of Information and Communications, Daisi Ajayi,
Father Ologunwa implores Christians to pray for the nation and ask God to grant the leaders the wisdom and courage to lead the citizens aright.
The CAN Chairman hints that Nigerians must play their part as citizens by conducting themselves peacefully, promoting unity, and supporting policies and initiatives that would promote the welfare of the people.
He encourages Christians to work towards the unity of the nation and avoid anything that might cause division among the citizens.
The Chairman advises Christians to be agents of peace and reconciliation and as well promote interfaith dialogue to foster understanding and mutual respect.
“Thus, it is a season to remember the sacrifice of Christ and the importance of selflessness and service to others.”
“In celebrating this Easter, let us renew our commitment to building a better Nigeria, where justice, equity, and prosperity will reign.”
The CAN Chairman also admonishes political leaders in Ondo state to reflect on the state of education, agriculture, and health sectors
Describing Education as the bedrock of any society and therefore calls on the government to invest more by improving infrastructure in schools, and provide the necessary facilities and resources needed for effective teaching and learning.
Rev father Ologunwa also describes Agriculture and health as another vital sectors that could drive the economic growth of the state.
He urges government to support farmers with the necessary inputs, provide access to markets, and create an enabling environment for agribusiness to thrive.
Rev. Father Ologunwa urges the government to prioritize the training and welfare of healthcare workers to ensure that they could deliver quality healthcare services to the people.
The Chairman who prays that God’s wisdom and guidance would continue to be for all and sundry also reminds Ondo residents to exercise their franchise peacefully and vote for candidates who would prioritize the welfare of the people in the Governorship election holding in the state this year .
“Furthermore, we must work towards the unity of the body of Christ and avoid anything that may cause division among us.
The CAN Chairman also prays for Muslim brothers and sisters observing the Ramadan, that their blessings and rewards would come with the holy season.
“In conclusion, let us all rejoice in the joy and effect of the risen Christ, which is the fullness of God’s grace in our world.
May this Easter season bring us hope, peace, and prosperity.”
