Pensioners Beg For Payment Of #35, 000 Cash Wage Award
The Pensioners in Ondo State have appealed the worker friendly Governor, Hon. Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to ratify the payment of #35, 000 Cash award to some Pensioners in the state.
This appeal contained in a letter addressed to Mr. Governor duly signed by Gbenga Allen Esq, Akinde Yomi Esq, Akindehin D.J, Esq, Bayo Ogunmola,Esq, Adewumi E.A, and High Chief Olubunmi Dada and made a copy available to journalists in Akure.
They coppied Ondo State NLC, Nigeria Union of Pensioners Ondo State, Ondo State Pension Service Commission and Office of Head of Service.
“In the month of October 2023, NLC National leader brokered tripartite agreement with Federal Government, State and private sectors of Nigeria to pay minimum of #35,000 to Civil servants, Pensioners across the three tiers of governments as well as workers in private sector to palliate the excruciating effects of fuel subsidy removal pending when new National Minimum Wage will come into effect. The Ondo State Government being a workers friendly immediately implemented the cash award for Civil Servants in addition to the said free transportation services and left behind Pensioners the most vulnerable, elder state men who at one time or the other expenses their productive years to serve Ondo State meritoriously and who are the worst hit by the current ravaging economy melt down.” The statement reads in part.
They expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to take the state to the next level therefore, they pleaded for prompt response to their request of #35,000 cash wage award for Ondo State Pensioners.
