ONDO NOA SYNERGIES WITH INEC ON PEACEFUL CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS.
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, Ondo State Directorate, Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu and the management played host to the newly deployed INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner and her team on Monday 8th January, 2024 in her office to synegize on the strategies for the peaceful conduct of forthcoming Akoko North East and Akoko North West Federal Constituency Bye-Election slated for February 3rd, 2024.
In her words, the INEC REC, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Oluwayemisi Babalola, expressed her delight in the visit aimed at appreciating the Agency’s efforts in the previous elections.
She noted that the roles of NOA in electoral process most especially in the area of fostering national unity, civic education can not be over emphasized.
Speaking further, she said the new leadership of the Commission in the State is open to advice and assistance. She therefore solicited for the Agency’s support in the upcoming Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency election scheduled for February 3rd, 2024.
In her response, the Ondo NOA Director, Mrs. Adelayo Adefolalu appreciated the REC for the visit and for acknowledging the significant roles played by the Agency most especially in the previous elections conducted in the State.
While pledging the support of the Agency in the elections ahead, she took time to educate the REC and her team on different approaches and strategies deployed by the Agency to sensitise and mobilise d citizenry to actively participate in the electioneering process thereby reducing voter apathy and ensuring free, fair and credible election.
