Crime: Growing Cases of Age Fabrication in Ondo State Local Government Commission & Alleged Cover-Up

A Local Government official, Mr Salami Adekunle Jimoh from Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State has again raised alarm over an alleged wide spread age falsification by some top officials of the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission.
In a petition addressed to the Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwae and made available to our Crime Reporter, Salami alleged that several representations and correspondences had been forwarded to the offices of the Head of Service and Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission on the alleged fabrication of dates of birth by Abiodun Akintade, Permanent Secretary, Local Government PTAD,. Rapheal Akinrotimi, HOLGA, Ifedore Local Government and Morenike Adejoro, HOLGA, Akure North Local Government without taking concrete steps hence the petition to rescue the commission from institutional failure.
In the fresh petition, Salami wrote, “The above persons, Your Excellency, have at one time or the other deliberately altered their dates of birth and other official documents to gain more years in service and by implications cheating, short-changing and hampering the career progression of others to attain heights of their profession.
“It will interest Your Excellency to know that, the Local Government Service Commission at one of her statutory meetings deliberated and resolved to taking concrete actions by informing HOLGAs of Ifedore and Akure North to compulsorily retire but, the Chairman of the Commission has been footdraging to execute the decision.
Salami also accused the Head of Service whose office superintends the PTAD of covering up the criminal activities these officers especially of Abiodun Akintade being his maternal relation from Ikare-Akoko.
The petitioner further alleged that the HoS merely directed the Department of Service Matter to only focus on Akintade’s file which is believed to have been criminally falsified and reconstructed after his appointment as Permanent Secretary to pervert justice.
“This we have written and communicated to Mr. HOS who for reasons best known to him wants to shun voice of reason by doing what will further jeopardise the system and subvert the integrity of the service.
The petitioner therefore requested that the above claims be thoroughly investigated while the accused officers be made to present their individual BVN print out, Primary School Leaving Certificates, the LGSC Seniority List of DLGA from 2007 and especially as at June, 2018, their original files, the 2013 verification exercise report be used as part of instrument of verification for screening.
