Ansar-Ud-Deen @100: Alhaji Azeez Balogun Bags Merit Award
Hon. Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Umar Balogun has been honoured for his significant impacts on education, religion and community service the leadership of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria Ondo State Council as part of 100 years celebration of the organization.
The public lecture and award ceremony was held at Cultural Centre, Adegbemile, Akure on Sunday, December 3rd , 2023 as dignitaries from all walks of life graced the occasion.
Hon. Alhaji Balogun whose contributions towards advancement of humanity and existing body of Knowledge and community have been quite phenomenal, was decorated and presented with insignia of honour among many eminent personalities.
According to the organizers of the event, the award ceremony was purposely to appreciate good works of people like Alhaji Azeez Balogun and further encourage him to do more as well making other to emulate his virtues.
While speaking with journalists shortly after receiving his award, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Umar Balogun expressed his heart felt joy over the honour which he said came to him with surprise adding that he was not expecting it.
Hon. Alh. Balogun pointed out that the award will further boost his ability to contribute more to the advancement of humanity in different capacities.
He therefore called on all and sundry not to shy away from making useful contributions towards the good of the society pointing that their reward will come when they least expect.
Alhaji Abdul-Azeez was born some decades ago to the family of Alhaji Sulaiman Umar Balogun in Uko Quarters, Ogbagi-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.
He had his Primary School at AUD School before he proceeded to Ahmaddiyya Grammar School both in Ogbagi-Akoko.
For his love for Islamic religion, he went to Arabic School in Lagos to aquire knowledge on Islamic religion and later brought Quran evening lecture to young people around him.
His Islamic school has graduated many people and being a lover of education, he bagged grade 2 certificate through distance learning.
Balogun contested councillorship election and won to represent good people of Ogbagi-Akoko political ward.
He headed many groups, chaired different committees and he performed excellently well with commendations and accolades from his leaders and followers.
He had visited Mecca and Medina on holy pligrimage at two different times.
He is married and blessed with promising children that are doing well in their various fields of endeavours.

Ashimiyu Adekunle Omojola, Late Alhaji Sheikh Ahmadas Aladesawe, Mr. Kolawole Abdulyekeem Akibu, Alh. Abdu-Azeez Balogun, professor AbdulAzeez Abubakar and Hajia Mariam Iyabo Azeez.
