Comrade  Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahi Becomes National Chairperson Of NUP Women Committee

Comrade Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahil Abdullahi, one of the active members of Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) from Gombe State has been unanimously appointed as the Chairperson of Women Committee of the union in Nigeria.

Her appointment was announced at the NEC meeting of the union host by Ondo State Council of NUP on Tuesday 28 of November, 2023 at Pensioners’ House along Oda road, Akure.

The leadership of the union (NUP) delighted in her consistency, meaningful contributions and loyalty to NUP and ratified her appointment to provide leadership for all women in Nigeria Union of Pensioners.

While speaking with the Democrat News Magazine in Akure shortly after her appointment, Comrade  Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahi expressed her satisfaction over the appointment which she said they have have been longing for for the past seven years.

In her word: “I am very happy and overwhelmed today, we have been longing for this for many years. It is a thing of joy that women Pensioners are now functioning in the midst of men.

“I will use all that are at my disposal serve the union and to ensure betterment of women and entire membership of our great union.”

While advising all members of the union to be loyal and shower high level of dedication to the leadership of the union because it is highly rewarding, Comrade Abdullahi said she has been serving the union consistently for the past years and that others should follow her steps.
