As teachers across the world rolled out drums to celebrate 2023 World Teachers’ Day, the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has honoured some teachers that showed themselves worthy in their profession.
The recipients are Mr. Ogunleye Oke-Owo, the Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure, and his counterparts from AUD Grammar, Akungba-Akoko,Mr. Aseez Owolabi Moshood and Mrs. Abe Nike from St. Louis Girls Grammar School, Owo and Mr. Ayodele Omololu Olugbenga from Ire-Akari Grammar School, Ido-Ani.
Those in category of Secondary School Class teachers including: Mr. Emidun Olugbenga from African Unity Secondary School, Epinmi-Akoko, Mr. Adeniyi Samuel from Ajuta High School, Ogbagi-Akoko, Mrs. Alli Olayinde Esther from Daniken High School, Ode-Aye, Mr. L .A Adelanke from Ademulegun High School, Bamikemo and Mr. Atilagha Karamini from Ijaw National High School, Arogbo.
For the category of Primary School Head Teachers, Mr. Oyesanmi Sunday Babalola, from Community P/S Zion, Kofawe, Mr. Akinruli Olusegun Felix from St. Peter’s RCM P/S Baikin and Mr. Akinmolafe Abiodun from St. James Anglican, P/S Opasorun, Idanre.
While Mrs. Omole Bunmi from Muslim P/S Ipogun, Mrs. Bakare Rebecca from School for the Physically Impaired, Akoko North East, Mr. Coker Olusegun, from St.Stephen’s Anglican P/S , Ajagbusi-Igbatoro, Owoseni Oreoluwa Comfort from St. Stephen’s Anglican P/S , Kajola, Abdulhamed Lateef from LA P/S Igbado and Mr. Olorunsola Ige Tinuke from Methodist P/S Ode-Irele
In their separate interview with the Democrat News Magazine some of the awardees appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the leadership of education sector in the state.
They solemnly promised to continue to contribute more resourcefully to the existing body of knowledge in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
In his interview, the Chairman of NUT and NLC in Ondo State Comrade Victor Amoko used the occasion to enumerated his achievements in office and all Ondo State Government had done as well as their pressing needs.
He therefore charged all the awardees and all teachers in the state to be more dedicated to duties in reciprocating all that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been doing for teachers and education in the state.
