AIYEDATIWA RE-ASSURES HEALTH WORKERS OF COMMITMENT TO GOOD HEALTH SERVICES.
***NMA Appreciates Acting Governor For Holding Forth For Governor Akeredolu.
Ondo State Acting Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reassured the people of the State particularly members of Nigeria Medical Association ( NMA ), Ondo State chapter that, the State is determined to sustain and continually improved on efforts at delivering effective and qualitative health care services to the people and residents of the State.
The Acting Governor spoke while playing host to the leadership of NMA, Ondo State chapter and it’s affiliates led by their Chairman, Dr Omosehin Adeyemi Osowe who were in his office on courtesy visit on Tuesday.
While welcoming them, Aiyedatiwa highlighted the efforts made by Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON in the health care delivery like upgrading health facilities services for children below age five and pregnant women as well as boosting of healthcare facilities with modern equipments .
He also disclosed that the State established the Orange Health Insurance Scheme ( ORANGHIS ) for public servants in the State as well as political office holders .
The State equally established Ondo State Contributory Health Commission and Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme in response to the pressing global needs to attain Universal Health Coverage ( UHC ) in accordance with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
The State is also building the ongoing multi-million naira 500-Bed Teaching Hospital at UNIMED Ondo and Akure, he said.
The Acting Governor commended health workers in the State for their perseverance as he appealed to them that their welfare remains a top priority.
“We have taken note of the challenges you raised so that, we can see how to address them” .
“I assure you not to be discourage and thank you for your perseverance” .
“We will improve by the grace of God” , Aiyedatiwa assured.
Earlier, Ondo State NMA Chairman, Dr Omosehin Osowe appreciated the Acting Governor for holding forth for Mr Governor and for the commitment of the present administration in the health care delivery in the State.
He listed some of their challenges as he called for sustained improvement in the health sector of the State.
Joining the Acting Governor in receiving the NBA team are, Special Adviser to Governor on Health, Professor Dayo Faduyile, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor, Office of Acting Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Press Secretary to Governor, Office of Acting Governor, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson and Special Assistant to Governor on New Media, Ladi Okunniga.
