World Humanitarian Day 2023: Where is your humanity?
By Seun Bosede Osamaye
Humanity is the qualities of being humane or benevolent, It is the ability to love or show compassion especially to the less privileged.
Today is world humanitarian Day, a day set aside to remind us of what makes us human and to celebrate every individuals who dedicates their lives to make life better for others
The world will be chaotic without its inhabitants showing emphathy to one another. The world will loose its flavour without love and compassion. Reducing the burden of others, helping the needy, and showing kindness to all is the essence of our existence, yet tales abound of many made men who impoverished the very people they were made to transform & liberate
Where is your humanity?
If you have been diverting & accumulating wealth from resources meant for the masses using the powers you wield, Where is your humanity*
If you had been strategic and not sincere in your dealings & your motive is using your humanitarian services to make fame or more money from the same people you were supposed to alleviate their sufferings thereby making life more difficult for them, Where is your humanity?
As a power holder of the people, If you give out only a part of what belongs to the masses(keeping the rest for yourself) and yet act all arrogant and pretend like you have done them a favour and want to be worshipped, where is your humanity?
If you have use your position to influence decisions & policies detrimental to the poor just to feed your greed,
Where is your humanity?
If you have lost your humanity, Today is a day to reflect in sobriety, and retrace your step because there is always a day of reckoning
*To Altruistic leaders, God bless you for redefining leadership and to Everyone Striving daily to make the world a better place for humanity, Today is a day to Celebrate you, Happy Humanitarian Day, The theme for this year is “No matter what, So lets remain dedicated to helping others as much as we can, no kindness is small, start in your corner!*
