Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for education, Pastor Femi Agagu called on Ondo State students to jettison excesses of social media but be friendly with their books.
Agagu who was represented at the occasion by Mrs. Mapayi Olufolake did congratulated the ANA for successful event and urged every student to imbibe the culture of reading.
Earlier, the chairman planning committee, comrade Goke Williams elucidated that the competition titled Literacy Awareness Campaign is to bring back the lost reading culture among students.
According to him, the programme was fully sponsored by the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, Ondo State Chapter in-conjunction with Yusuf Alli Foundation together with some distinguished donors.
Also in his comment, Ondo State Chairman of ANA, Sunday Afolayan whole called for holistic reorientation of the society stressing the need for the society to intellectual achievements above materialism.
