I’LL GIVE PRIORITY TO YOUTHS, WOMEN, AGED IN AKURE SOUTH WARD 10-EKE RAYMOND OLUWAFUNSO
Eke Raymond Oluwafunso is one of the vibrant and intelligent young man of Akure origin and a leading aspirant for councillorship position of Ward 10 in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), in this interview with the Democrat News Magazine, he spoke on his agenda for the categories of people in his constituency and other sundry issues, Excerpts:
CAN YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO US IN BRIEF?
My name is Eke Raymond Oluwafunso. I was born and brought up in Akure, I had my primary and secondary school education in Akure before I proceeded to University of Ado-Ekiti for my tertiary education.
I am contesting for councillorship position of Ward 10 in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). Ward 10 comprises of Oja-Oshodi, Isolo, Seebi, High School area and Shagari.
WHAT ARE YOUR PROGRAMMES FOR THE PEOPLE OF WARD 10 IN AKURE SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT IF YOU WERE ELECTED TO REPRESENT THEM AT THE COUNCIL?
Thank you very much, I have a number of programmes for the people of my constituency. By the special grace of God I will be unfolding the them one after the other when I get to the office but for the purpose of this interview I will just mention a few like youths and women involvement in politics, unification of the party members and taking care of the elderly in my constituency and many of others. I am well prepared to see that Ward 10 becomes the cynosure of all eyes by the special grace of God.
SPECIFICALLY, HOW DO YOU INTEND TO CONTRIBUTE MAXIMALLY TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTHS IN YOUR AREA?
Truly, youths are not giving pride of place in governance at all levels and I have to do something about as a matter of urgency. I was once a leader of Community in Akure High School, then, I wrote letters to the Ministries concerning maintenance of our health centre, we engaged youths in our monthly environmental sanitation, Public Health and motivation of youths in sports and lot more. We are going to do more if I am elected as the councilor of Ward 10. I will make sure that youths are engaged in community development, politics and sports so that it will help in the reduction crimes in the society.
DO YOU SUBSCRIBE TO YOUTH MENTORSHIP IN POLITICS AS SOME SCHOOL OF THOUGHT PROPOSED?
Yes, is a very good development. We have to learn from them to see what they have done right and improve on it and avoid their pitfall. My first mentor was my late father Hon. Olu Eke, he was once a councilor in Ward 5 in Akure South, former Chairman of Akure South and former Commissioner in Ondo State during the administration of Dr Olusegun Agagu and one personal mentor that I love his way politicking in person of Hon. Adepoju Dapo Sam, AKA Bobo FOWOSO and many others that I considered great in Ondo State.
WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF WARD 10 TO ENSURE THAT ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL IDEAS COME TRUE?
Thank you very much, I have the honour and privilege to appreciate my youths in ward 10, they have been wonderful in the way they have been supporting me and the women of the area have also made known their readiness to support me come rain come sunshine and the Democrat media for their publicity. Let me say that they should not relent until we get there and I am saying that I will not let them down.
