It was an exciting moment at Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure on Thursday 11th of May, 2023 as the school held annual Inter-House Sports Competition in a Colourful manner.
Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure that is known for excellence in academics also displayed high level of dexterity in sporting activities at the Inter-House Sports Competition this year.
The school played host to dignitaries from all Walk of life like the Deji of Akure, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade, who was represented by Senior High Chief Elemo Adedipe, High Chief Olusanya, Asamo of Akure, Chairman of the Occasion, Prophet Ekpobomini Jide, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Oluwakenisola Hellen Fatunmise, Chairperson of the event, Mrs. ‘Funwa Agbi, National President of FOGA and a host of others.
After a keenly contested field events and other games the School House (Purple House) came first, while Orange House came second and Red House came third followed by Blue House and Yellow House respectively.
Speaking with journalists at the school field, the Principal of the School Amb. Temitope Ojoge thank God for the success of the event saying that the Inter-House Sports was well packaged to give the students of school balance education.
“As we know work without play makes ‘Jack a dull Boy’. Today you can see that everyone is excited, we have also encouraged our staff and subsidized their sports wears.
She also used the medium to sincerely appreciate all dignitaries that came to grace the occasion and for their generous contributions.
Ojoge charged the students not to relent in their efforts towards raising bar of excellence they are known for in all ramifications.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman and Chairperson of the occasion described the Inter-House Sports Competition of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure as a unique one.
They also called on parents and teachers to encourage the students to develop their talents in any sports of their choice and to be good ambassadors of the school and the Nigeria in general.
Also in his comment, High Chief Rotimi Olusanya the Asamo of Akure congratulated the principal of the school and students on the success of the annual Inter-House Sports, he also encouraged them to keep the flag flying.
In the same way, the Chairman of Sports Committee of the School, Mrs. O.F Ekpo-Jide and the Secretary, Mrs. J. O Kolawole expressed their profund joy over the way people turned out to the event.
