Ondo State House of Assembly member-elect representing Akoko South West Constituency 2, Hon. Agbulu Akeem Tope has assured his constituents of quality and effective representation.
He said as a lawmaker in the 10th Assembly, his major focus is to give the people of his constituency dividends of democracy by making appropriate laws that will benefit and better their lives.
The PDP lawmaker-elect spoke after receiving his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
He appreciated the leader of PDP in the state for giving youths in the state sense of belonging through necessary support.
He said, ” I am happy with my victory in the just concluded election into the Ondo State House of Assembly and I thanked the entire people’s of my constituent for coming out en-mass to vote for me. It was not easy but all glory belongs to Almighty Allah for making it possible”, he said.
The lawmaker-elect stated that he will not forget his electioneering campaign promises to his people.
It could be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (NEC), on Thursday issued Certificates of Return to all the 26 newly and re-elected members of the Ondo State House of Assembly.
The elected lawmakers include 22 APC and four PDP members.
Agbulu thanked the state Chairman of PDP, stakeholders and leaders for their support and cooperation which gave him overwhelming victory at the Assembly polls.
He promised not to take the mandate given to him for granted, but work very hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by bringing development to his constituency and meet the expectations of the electorate.
The Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner, (REC) for Ondo State, Mr Oyekola Oyelami,urged the new lawmakers to carry out their legislative duties in line with the mandate given to them by the electorate.
Oyelami said the issuance of Certificates of Return was in line with the Constitution.
