Celestial Church of Christ Grammar School, Ondo Holds 2023 Annual Inter-House Sport Competition In Special Way
The Celestial Church of Christ Grammar School, Ondo has concluded its 2023 Annual Inter-House Sports Competition in grand style as notable nigerians that passed through the school at one time of the other graced the occasion.
A-week long events of varieties was well attended by distinguished personalities within and outside the state, which include the invited guests, old students, clergy men, friends and well-wishers.
The principal of the School, Evang. Victoria Funmilayo Patrick while addressing guests, staff and students of the school said that the annual event provides the needed platform to not only develop the students’ mental ability but also equip them with the physical ability to excel in life.
Mrs. Patrick who expressed high hopes that the students will in the nearest future represent the state and the nation at large at mega sports competition, urged the students to focus on their education just as she applauded the state government for providing the enabling environment for sports development in the state.
She said, ” I applaud the state government under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN (CON) for paying the SS3 examination fees for WAEC and providing the enabling environment for sports development in the state”.
Mrs Patrick urged them to translate the energy they have brought to the competition into their classroom work.
According to her, ” the important of the school inter-house sports can not be over emphasized. It’s to ensure students health, identify their potential and promote team spirit.
I want to encourage the students to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship. To win is good, but to participate and identify with your house is better than sitting on the fence”.
Mrs Patrick solicited for the support of individuals or organizations to help the school by given them packs of jersey for the school players, packs of football and Obitun costumes for their Obitun dancers.
In the overall results, Modupe Awosika House (White House) came first, Green House second, Blue House third and Yellow House came fourth respectively.
Celestial Church of Christ Grammar School Ondo was established some years ago and the school has produced notable people that are doing well globally.
Meanwhile, the Global Focus Magazine also used the medium to honour Mrs. Victoria Funmilayo Patrick with award of Pillar of Education in Nigeria.
The award came as a result of her contributions to the development of mankind, her giant stride in educational system and her support for the growth of the society using the instrumentality of her noble profession.
