Ondo State Council of Nigeria Labour Congress has elected Comrade Victor Oladele Amoko to lead the Congress for the next four years.
His election and inauguration took place at their 13th Quadrennial State Delegate Conference held at NLC Hall, opposite Army Baracks, Ondo Road, Akure on 7th of March 2021.
In his goodwill message Govr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was represented by Mr. Dare Aragbaye congratulated the leadership of organized Lanour in Ondo State and appreciated them for their unalloyed support in the past years.
Aragbaye who is also the Special Adviser to Govr. Akeredolu on Union Matter pointed out that the government of Ondo State is always ready to put the welfare of workers in the front burner.
He pointed out that the Mr. Governor is ready to take timely advice from labour leaders on how to move the state forward and to advance polity of governance.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Acting Chairman, Comrade Victor Oladele Amoko appreciated the presence of Mr. Governor and the dignitaries at the occasion noted that the immediate past administration of NLC under the leadership of Comrade Sunday Oluwole recorded unprecedented success.
After the opening of the conference delegates from across all affiliated Unions to NLC unanimously elected Comrade Victor Amoko to steer the leadership of the congress for the next four years.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of Ondo State NLC, Comrade Victor Amoko said he wholeheartedly and with humility accept the onerous task and trust reposed in him to lead Ondo State Council of NLC for the next four years.
While appreciating the immediate past Chairman, now the National Vice President of NLC for his wonderful contributions towards the congress.
Amoko who is also the Chairman of NUT in Ondo State, said his duty is to focus on the welfare of the workers of Ondo State and to further strengthen good relationship between the government and workers of the State.
He consequently appointed Comrade Akin Sunday of NUP as Secretary and Comrade Leke Adegbite, Chairman of NUJ as the Asst. Secretary respectively.
In his charge, the electoral umpire from Abuja called on members to support the new leaders of the congress in Ondo State as they are ready to provide purposeful leadership.
Also in his chat with the Democrat News Magazine, Hon. Johnson Osunyemi the Chairman of NUP in Ondo State congratulated the new leaders of NLC and prayed for wisdom to drive the development of the congress in the state.
Also speaking with journalists, the new NLC Secretary who is also the Secretary of NUP, Comrade Akin Sunday promised to work with other leaders of the Congress to achieve the overall mandate of the new executive under Comrade Victor Amoko.
