St. Monica’s Girls Grammar School, Ondo Honours Mrs Adetimehin

 

As part of the activities to mark the 60th Inter-house Sports Competition of St. Monica’s Girls Grammar School, Ondo, the school has honoured some distinguished personalities in the state, which include one of her old students, Mrs Mercy Oluwapelumi Adetimehin.

The principal of the School, Chief Mrs Akinlosoyin, while addressing guests, staff and students of the school said the annual event provides the needed platform to not only develop the student’s mental ability but also equip them with the physical ability to excel in life.

Chief Mrs. Akinseloyin who expressed high hopes that the students will in the nearest future represent the state and the nation at large at mega sports competition, urged the students to focus on their education just as she applauded the state government for providing the enabling environment for sports development in the state.

Chief Mrs. Akinseloyin urged them to translate the energy they have brought to the competition into their classroom work.

In her words, Mrs Mercy Adetimehin thanked the school management for honouring her with the award of “Excellence”.

She said, ” I thanked the school management for the honoured done on me today. I’m a product of this citadel of learning that has produced notable women globally.
I promised to continue to lend my support for the progress of my Alma Matter”.

Some of the eminent Nigerians who received awards of recognition for selfless service to humanity include, Ondo Central Senatorial Candidate, Adeniyi Adegbonmire ( SAN), Ondo APC Chieftain, Otunba Adeniran Oyebade popularly called Mr. Whitehouse and SDP Presidential Candidate, Prince (Dr ) Adewole Adebayo among others.

Also at the event, Hon Abiola Makinde, the MHR representing Ondo East and West was honoured as Life Patron of the school.

St. Monica Girl’s Grammar School, Ondo was established in 1955, and it has produced notable women globally.

Meanwhile, Global Focus Magazine is set to honoured Mrs Mercy Adetimehin with another award of Pillar of Education.

This was due to her contributions to the development of mankind, her giant stride in educational system and her support for the growth of the society.

The award will comes up on 17th February, 2023 at NUJ Press Centre, behind Adegbemile Cultural Centre, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State.
