It was a day of speech making and commendations as Sheikh Muhammed Musemil Olanrewaju Abdulahi Babasale was turbaned and officially installed as Imam of Badiru-L-Islam of Nigeria Central Mosque, Owo in grand style.
Dignitaries from Ilorin, Kogi and beyond converged at the premises of Imade College in Owo the venue of the ceremony on Saturday 7th of January 2023 to witness the glorious turbaning ceremony.
While performing the turbaning and installation, the Grand Imam of Owo Kingdom, Alh. Imam (DR) Sheikh Ahmed Olagoke Aladesawe charged the celebrant to be more dedicated to seeking of knowledge and guidance of Allah in his day to day living stressing that leadership in Islam calls for proactive development.
Aladesawe commended invaluable contributions of the father of the celebrant during his life time the qualities which he said had been passed on to Imam Abdulahi Babasale.
Calling on the people present at the occasion to embrace selfless service to God and humanity saying that their rewards will definitely come in due course.
Also speaking at the occasion, shortly after the presentation of certificate to Sheikh Muhammed Musemil Olanrewaju Abdulahi Babasale, the Chief Imam Government House Mosque, Alh. Abdullahi Anuola congratulated the celebrant warmly and prayed that he would enjoy support of Almighty Allah as he pilot the affairs of his congregation and as he makes contributions to the society.
In the same way, Anuola advised him to seek more knowledge in Islam and to continue be a good ambassador of the faith as he been doing since his youth.
In his acceptance speech, the newly turbaned Imam Sheikh Muhammed Musemil Olanrewaju Abdulahi Babasale who was full of appreciation for the turn out of people from across the country to honour him.
He promised to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by the founder of Badiru-L-Islam of Nigeria Central Mosque Owo for appointment him about 12 years ago before his death.
Imam Babasale called for more unity and cordial relationship among the leadership and entire members of Muslim community in Owo and Nigeria at large as a to facilitate rapid development of the country.
The Newly turbaned Imam Sheikh Muhammed Babasale also used the occasion to pray for the good of the people of Nigeria and Owo in particular.
In her chat with the Democrat News Magazine, the wife of the Celebrant, Mrs. Abdulahi Babasale expressed joy over the success of the installation and turbaning ceremony her husband.
She also used the medium to appreciate Allah and all members of the family, friends and associates that came from far and wide to grace the occasion.
Mrs. Babasale also pray for successful tenure of her husband with long life and good health.
In his remarks, the younger brother of the Celebrant, Imam Saheed Babasale from Lagos State described his Abdulahi Olanrewaju as a well rounded personality who serves as a rally point to all members of the family.
He noted that Imam Olanrewaju Abdulahi took after their father in quality Character and that he improved upon it which he said made him qualify for the honour and more.
On their parts, Head of Imams in Igboroko Owo, Imam Mubarak Salaudeen, PRO Western Zone IEDPU Muhammed Babatunde and Patron IEDPU in Owo, Alh. Mustapha Kolawole Ajani pointed out that Sheikh Muhammed Musemil Olanrewaju Abdulahi Babasale did not only do well in area good human relations much better in his religious activities.
They used the opportunity to admonish him to show more humility, courtesy and love to the people and the community to further increase his honour and respect among the people.
After series of prayers and admonitions guests were entertained with assorted food and drinks before their departure.
