Eminent sons and daughters of Ipogun Community in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State came together in an atmosphere of love and unity as they joined Oba Raphael Oluwadare Ojo in celebrating 2022 Ipogun-Ayo Day and made generous donations towards the development of the community.
The event was held on Saturday December 10, 2022 at St. Jude’s Anglican Primary School field Ipogun under the chairmanship of Hon. Wale Akinterinwa, Ondo State Commissioner of Finance.
While speaking at the occasion, the Adapogun of Ipogun, Oba Raphael Oluwadare Ojo thanked God who made the occasion a reality despite challenges.
Oba Oluwadare Ojo used the occasion to underscore the importance love and unity among residents of the community which he said is the bedrock of community development.
The Royal Father also used the occasion to pray for all his sons and daughters and entire residents of the community as well as those who made generous donations towards the realization the community projects.
Oba Oluwadare Ojo pointed out that the focus of 2022 annual celebration was to generate N100 Million for the construction of Ultra modern Palace and other community development projects that have been begging for attention all these years.
“The success of today’s occasion again proved to me that nothing is impossible with God. At the beginning we had problem with our planning Committee and I went into serious prayer and God performed miracle.
“I am very grateful to APC, PDP, ADC and other parties that graced the occasion. Let me also use this opportunity to tell all our sons and come home and contribute to the development nothing like witches and wizard because gospel of Christ had taken over the community,” Oba Oluwadare Ojo said.
While speaking that occasion, the Chairman of Ipogun-Ayo Community Council, High Chief J.O. Ilemobayo said the annual celebration in which all their sons and daughters, friends and well wishers appraised their collective well-being as well as chart a new course for the future development and progress of the town.
High Chief Ilemobayo used the medium to thank God for the peaceful atmosphere and appreciated Oba Raphael Oluwadare Ojo for providing quality leadership for the community over the years.
He noted that the focus of this year’s celebration centred on completion of Ultra-Modern Palace and Community Projects that were long overdue saying that Oba Oluwardare Ojo has been using personal building for official business.
While urging the people to donate generously towards to course of the community development, he also assured the people that the council will religiously and prudently utilize whatever they realized.
Ilemobayo also used the medium to call well meaning individuals to come to the community to establish industries under the peaceful atmosphere of the community.
In his welcome address, Dr. Olumide Asere, the Director General of Public Service Training Institute said that the essence of the celebration is a show of love to one another and to help in the development of the town.
Dr. Asere who is also the Secretary of Planning Committee of the celebration said people came from all walks of life to celebrate with them as a way to help in the development of the community.
He charged all and sundry to embrace love and oneness for the benefit of upcoming generation of the sons and daughters of Ipogun community.
Also speaking with journalists, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Hon. Johnson Osunyemi said the people of the community have been conscious of their development from the time immemorial.
In his words: “Although we had a little government attention and if you go through the street, apart from the construction of Oba’s Palace we still need to do drainages, roads and other social amenities in our community.
“I will continue to make my contributions towards the advancement of this community, because at one time of the other, I was a Chairman of Ipogun Development Council or Chief Launcher of the annual celebration like this, I think that was the reason they publicly acknowledge my contributions to the community here today.”
In his comment, the Chief Imam of Ipogun Community, Alh. Yusuf Garuba Temitope said all the sons and daughters of the community have been trying in making contributions in no small measure to the advancement of the town.
He also used the occasion to pray for Kabiyesi, Oba Raphael Oluwadare Ojo and entire people of the community for good health and prosperity as they celebrate another year.
Displayed of different cultural dancers and songs, and Ewi exponent were also feature as part of the highlight of the celebration as participants took to the stage to celebrate.
The Candidates of PDP, ADC and APC for Senate, House of Reps and State House of Assembly, Basorun Ifedayo Adedipe, Hon. Adegbola Adedeji Babalola and Hon. Bamidele and a host of others were also present at the event.
In his chat with journalists, Hon. Adegbola Adedeji Babalola whose candidature received wide acceptance at the occasion said he was ready to give the people quality representation at the green chamber of National Assembly.
Hon. Adegbola noted that people are tired of lies and poor representations all these years and that his vision was to change the narratives.
