Engr. Olakunle Onajin is a retired Structural Engineer who is addicted to philanthropism whose Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR) has changed the faces of many Ondo State postively.
In recent times, he donated tubers of yams to some aged people in his country home, Ondo, gives monthly supports to some media organizations in Ondo State to help in the payment of their staffers and constant cleaning of Oba-Ile bus stop, clearing and fumigation of Ondo State Motherless Home among others.
In this Special Report by ALABA ALIU of the Democrat News Magazine, he x-rayed the multiplier effects of his philanthropic gestures on the society and individuals that benefited from his heart of gold.
In 2021, he celebrated his birthday in a special way, he was on the street to ensure cleaning of the Public Bus Stop in Oba-Ile; this is what he has been doing for about three years now, he refurbished Oba-Ile Health Centre and supplied them with disposable hand gloves, Nose Masks, two Street Lamps and Iron Poles with strings for easy spread of patients clothes and cleaned Motherless Home as well as supplied them needed materials and food stuff.
Without doubt, his selfless contributions to humanity will linger on for posterity.
This is akin, as Engr. Olakunle Onajin within two months in a year he was honoured as a Pillar of Community Development in Nigeria and inducted into Ondo State Hall of Fame Class 2022 for being a rare philanthropist who derives pleasure in putting smiles on the faces of people and contributing to the society.
Engr. Onajin whose life has taught many people lessons on giving back to the society, he mobilized workers to work in Ondo State Motherless Home for days and fumigated the compound against snakes and other dangerous reptiles.
His father died when he was 6 going to 7 years old and being the last born in the family of 9 children his brothers and sisters showered love on him and as a way to reciprocate the love bestowed on him, he looked out for the handicapped and less privileged in the society.
Engr. Olakunle Onajin had developed unabated passion for community development and service to humanity from his youth with no string attached to it.
It would be recalled last year, that Alh. Abdul Edun, a welder benefited refurbishment of Generator of about N150,000 and a man who received complete car wash modern tools from Engr. Onajin and many others.
Being a Rotarian and member of Élan Club, Engr. Onajin wants all Nigerians to be patriotic and give to the less privileged in order to bridge the gaps between the poor and the rich.
His efforts today, had yeilded and are still yeilding positive results in the society.
Apart from healthy lives for the children of Motherless Home, their morale also received boost because they are made to live in a clean environment.
For the welder Alh. Edun and the other man who man that benefited working tools from him (Onajin). They now have opportunity to feed their families comfortably, as a result, pressures are being reduced on government and community.
More so, the media organizations that benefited were able to pay their workers and the organizations are able to concentrate on their responsibilities to the society among others.
Engr. Olakunle Onajin his making the society healthy for people to live in. It is therefore behoves on well meaning individuals to emulate quality life of Engr. Olakunle Onajin not only for posterity but also to be rewarded by God in the world after.
