Some teachers in Ondo State have been honoured by Global Focus Magazine for their numerous and invaluable contributions to the existing body of knowledge in education sector.
The award ceremony was held on Thursday March 3, 2022 at NUJ, Alagbaka, Akure as dignitaries from all walks of life graced the occasion.
While delivering his welcome address, the publisher of Global Focus Magazine, Mr. Ayodele Ologunola said it has been the paramount desire of his organization to showcase some individuals that have been contributing in no small measure to educational advancement of the state and Nigeria by extension.
Ologunola said his awardees were selected on the basis of their impacts and tenacities in the development of the sector which he said had translated to the development of the state in all ramifications.
He also used the medium to congratulate all the awardees and charged them not to relent in their efforts stressing that more work is the reward of hard work.
Also speaking the chairman of the occasion, former Vice President of NULGE in Ondo State, Dr. Marcus Adeuti charged all the stakeholders to consistently fulfill their roles in ensuring balance.
He pointed parents has lots of works to do over their children as to model them to become good examples in all their endeavours particular the first born.
He also urged the awardees not to relenting in making viable contributions to the existing body of knowledge saying that the rewards of teachers are not only in heaven.
His Royal Highness, Akinduro Gbadega, the Oloja of Owena congratulated the awardees for their relentless efforts in Ondo State particularly in building the children who will be leaders of the nation in the nearest future.
One of the awardees, the State Chairman of Academic Staff of Secondary School, ASUSS, Comrade Tajudeen Balogun described the honour as a further movement to contribute more to the sector.
As a stakeholder he called on government, parents and others to strive harder in transforming education sectors by providing basic needs to make education assumed its pride of place.
He commended the teachers in Ondo State for their consistency despite their challenges and irregular salary.
ASUSS boss also used the medium to call on government of Ondo State under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to make the payment of salary of teachers a priority.
Comrade Balogun therefore dedicated his ward to his late wife, Alhaja Rukayat Balogun and Sola Ilesanmi for their impacts during their life times.
Zonal ANCOPS Chairman Akoko South, Comrade Bamidele Ogunmolade said: “This award shows that good works cannot go unnoticed, I never know that all we have been doing in our school is being taken to cognizant by individual or group like this.
Pastor Adebayo Sanmi Adenuga pointed out that: “I am happy for being recognized here today I am grateful to the organizers of this event. I am going to do more to the education sector.
On his part, Principal of Owena Grammar School, Mrs. Funmilola Victoria commended the organizers for the job well done in selecting competent people that had made impacts in education sector.
