The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Public and Inter-Governmental Affair, Mrs. Bunmi Ademosun, Hon. Oyerinmade Mathew Oye popularly known as MATO, real Admiral Alade and other have been honoured for their numerous contributions to the state.
The award ceremony was organized by NTA and grand capital Magazine recently at the Ondo State International Culture and Event (The Dome) as dignitaries from all walks of life attended.
While having a chat with journalists at the event, Mr. Oyerinmade Mathew Oye popularly known as MATO from Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo said: “My honour here today is a way of encouraging me to do more and by God’s grace, I believe in people as a welfareist I will do more to the people.
“You have to serve God and to serve humanity; I thank God for this recognition and I pray that God will give me more power to do more. Let me thank our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for creating an enabling environment, in terms of security, this is hallmark of a good leader.
“The bible says ‘When the righteous rules people rejoice’, although we might not yet get there but we are not where we used to be. It shows that our tomorrow will be great.
He therefore called on all the leaders to keep transparency, honesty and dedication alive, saying that these will engender trust because leadership is about trust.
MATO commended Governor Akeredolu for his leadership quality which he said stands him out as he handled matters courageously in the face of intimidation.
Also in his comment, Real Admiral Ilesanmi Alade, was represented by Otunba Oriki Rotimi Idowu who appreciated the organizers of the programme and for counting him worthy of the numerous people in Ondo State.
On his part, the Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Dr. Obafemi Omokungbe, said : “I feel very delighted for being recognized for what I have been doing in my little corner and I also want to thank the organizers of this programme to fish out some of us.
“This will spur us to do more for the state. Most especially that all of us are from Ondo State. Together we can do more. And so I want to see the state as the foremost state in Nigeria considering the fact that we have human and mineral resources in the state. And we those individuals that can put all these things together to make the state a formidable one.
“With good leadership in the state we will be on top and I also want to say that I am available at any time to give my expertise to the state most especially in the educational sector together we can make the state the foremost in Nigeria.
The founding fathers of the state had laid the foundation and on that foundation we must be able to build on it and whoever that is coming forward to lead the state must have it at the back of his mind that this is why we agitated for a state and must not deviate from it and Ondo State will be the foremost state.
In her words, Bunmi Ademosun: “This award came to me as a surprise I just saw the letter. About 30 people were screened. I don’t know how they came about my name. Honestly I feel honoured and I believe hard work has a reward, I never knew there some people over there watching me.
I also like to give kudos to all the public servants that I work with. My Permanent Secretary, Ipinisola, my DFA, Fayanju and Permanent Secretary Budget and Planning, Bunmi Alade, these are the people I worked closely with at Public and Inter-Governmental, Budget and Planning they guide me aright.
She also used the opportunity to commend Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for giving her opportunity to serve for people to see what she is made up of and promised not to let the governor down.
Ademosun also called on other women to make honesty, integrity, sincerity and loyalty which is the hallmark of success in life and that should do all as unto God.
On his part King David appreciated the organizers of the event for the honour bestowed on him as one of the 8th outstanding Ondo State personalities.
He therefore called on the youths of Ondo State to more dedicated and strives harder to make the state great in the areas positive ventures
