MANY SINS OF THE RULING PARTY

By Yomi Akinde

About 07 years ago when the ruling party ascend the throne of leadership, Nigerians rolled out drums to celebrate the ascension with high hope of getting their life turn around for better, the Nation Economy having been ran aground by immediate predicisive Government, 07 years after, still counting, Life of many Nigerians has been more miserable, efforts of the ruling party to turn things around for better has not been that impactful. The main opposition party apologized to Nigerians for their misrule in the past, now asking Nigerians to give them another chance come next circle of election to right the wrong. The Nation president seems to be apathetic to the groans of Nigerians occasioned by bad economy policies, the recent evitable toxic fuel imported into the country by NNPC and its suppliers that thrown up crisis which paralysed the nation Economy activities, stood it still for days and current strike action of Union of Academic staff of Nigeria university are good testimonies, it appears the president lacks capacity to give marching order and flog his lieutenants into line whenever their actions and inactions caused the Nation embarrassing crisis. I wish to say  without mincing words that the ruling party and main opposition party are sides of the same coin, until we have a meaningful conversation around our leadership recruitment processes, by opening it up to all ages, sound academic qualifications minimum of university degree or HND, make provisions for independent candidacy among others, Quality leader that is driven by geniue compassion for people with grand vision that will put in place governance system that works fine for us all will continue to eludes us.
