The Principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, Mrs. Adebola Ojoge and her counterpart in Ijapo High School, Akure, Mrs. Isatayo Bimbola Abike among many others have been honoured with merit awards because of their numerous contributions to health of public schools in Ondo State.
The award ceremony was held on 17th of February, 2022 at First Molac Hotel, Akure as part of the activities to mark the first Year of in office of the second term of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by City Mover Magazine, a media organization based in Akure.
While speaking with the Democrat News Magazine and other journalists shortly after receiving her award, Mrs. Adebola Ojoge appreciated the organizers of the event for being able to identify what her school is contributing to the healthy living of the students.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the organizers of this event, it shows they are sensitive to what we are doing in our school and this will boost my morale to do more.
Mrs. Ojoge dedicated the award to all the students and old students of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, the school that is regarded as a leading girls’ school in Ondo State and beyond for their efforts and contributions.
She also used the opportunity to commend Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his giant stride on health sector which has translated to healthy living of the people of Ondo State since his assumption of office.
In the same way, the Principal of Ijapo High School, Mrs. Isatayo Bimbola Abike said she was happy to have received the award for the little she has been doing to make life better of the students of Ijapo High School.
In her words “City Mover Magazine came to our school and they saw what we made available for the students in terms of health care. Let me use this medium to appreciate them and to Congratulate Mr. Governor for the successes recorded in health sector.
“He turned the General Hospital to Teaching Hospital and many other notable achievements in the sector. It is my sincere prayer that God will continue to help him as he leads Ondo State.
In his comment, one of the members of Board of Director of City Mover Magazine, Otunba Barr. Yemi Adetoyinbo said event was not only special, but a land mark achievement because it focused on the development of health sector under the first year of the second term of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“This award opened up area we have not thought about, which is the development of health in secondary schools in Ondo State. It is worthy of note how schools are attending promptly to the need of students in the area of health.
He congratulated all the awardees for being part of the success story of Ondo State.
“Akeredolu has improved the health standard of Ondo State. We have Teaching Hospital now in Akure, although this is just a beginning because Dr. Olusegun Mimiko laid the foundation during his tenure of office in the state.
He called for more development in health sector of Ondo State especially in Akure, the state capital saying Ondo State is a foremost in South West and should be given adequate attention.
“We need ultramodern hospital in Ondo State being the only oil producing state in South West. We also want to charge all stakeholders to support private media organizations in Ondo State.
